Strawberry Fields derives its name from the Beetles song, and was chosen by the previous management of the bed and breakfast. The bed and breakfast was purchased by the current owners in June 2007, and is proud to boast a 30% Black Economic Empowerment ownership. The current owners are Edward and Elaine Brass, Mangakane Masemola, Phuti Semenya and Phakamisa Stamper.

The property is 2 400 square meters and has views of the Observatory Valley, which together with the jacarandas, bougainvilleas and aloe palms provides a serene and beautiful garden ambiance. A variety of garden birds visit the property, which adds tranquility to the garden and areas.

Accommodation


The bed and breakfast is run on a day to day basis by a manager, Rina van Zyl, who stays on the premises to offer guests exceptional service.

Strawberry Fields Bed & Breakfast offers nine en-suite furnished rooms. Bathrooms have baths, showers, or a combination of both. Each room has its own entrance. There is DSTV in each room offering a variety of channels for all tastes. All rooms are fully serviced every day including Saturdays and Sundays.

Breakfast & Dining


Breakfast is served in the main house dining room. Evening meals can be provided on request.

Facilities & Service


The bed and breakfast also has an entertainment lapa adjacent to the rock pool. There is also a braai facility available for guest’s convenience. There are light beverages for sale from the main house. There is safe and secure parking. The property is secure behind high walls, electric fence and alarm system.

Location & Attractions


Strawberry Fields Bed & Breakfast is ideally situated for easy access to most places of interest around the city of Johannesburg. The bed and breakfast is situated opposite the tenth hole of the historical Observatory Golf Course and Driving Range. To date we have had guests from as far as France staying with us to enjoy a game or two.

Sandton and Johannesburg Airports are approximately 20 minutes away. Eastgate mall, Killarney mall and Melrose Arch are 10 minutes away. The Ellis Park Sports Stadium is nearby with a park and ride service offered just down the road from the property. The Linksfield Clinic and Milpark Hospital are also close by.

Guests are welcomed by warm smiles and serviced to suit their needs.
