Stephward Estate is set on four acres of botanical gardens, away from the madding crowds that holiday season brings! It is country by the sea being only 1.5kms from the famous Uvongo Falls and beach, and between Margate and Shelly Beach. We are within walking distance of the warm Indian Ocean (1.5 km) and within reach of several renowned golf courses, fishing spots, scuba diving, horse riding and other activities.

With our sub tropical climate and warm winters we have been able to build the estate in to a garden of Eden, yet maintain an atmosphere of tranquility. The gardens are dotted with statues reminiscent of Italy. Peacocks and bird life both enjoy the well planned gardens.

Accommodation

All our accommodation is situated approximately 150m away from the main complex, overlooking our own private dam, in a tranquil and private setting. A secure car park is available at the back of the accommodation block.

All rooms are air-conditioned with bathrooms en suite, ceiling fans, bar fridge, tea and coffee making facilities, built in dressing tables with hairdryers, colour TV’s (only SABC TV reception. You may bring your own DSTV decoder and SIM card as all rooms are wired with our dish) and own patio.

Safe, fax and email facilities are available at reception. We also have a two bedroom unit; main bedroom has a Queen-size bed, and the second room two single beds. We do offer laundry facilities.

After exploring our beautiful coast line and beaches, return back to Stephward Estate for a warm welcome and enjoy a tea or glass of wine on the pool deck. If you wish to book for dinner please let us know by 3.00pm.

Honeymoon couples are especially catered for in a romantic environment and will receive a complimentary bottle of sparkling wine in their suite on arrival! Weddings including ceremonies and receptions are catered for at the Estate, with our in house function co coordinator.

Breakfast and Dining

Our restaurant and bar is open daily from 09h00 till 16h30 for teas, breakfasts, snacks and lunches (evenings by reservations only). Due to holidaymakers wishing to plan their days and not be restricted by time limits we offer both Bed and Breakfast or just bed only.

Stephward Estate has matured into the pearl of the South Coast. On the estate we boast a fine dining restaurant that has an A la carte menu for both day and evening. Sundays we do a traditional English four course lunch, which weather permitting is held on the enclosed pool deck. We are fully licenced and carry an extensive range of wines.

Weddings

Stephward Estate prides itself as being one of the most romantic and picturesque wedding venues on the Natal South Coast. We offer anything from garden weddings in our Victorian gazebo next to our lake to weddings in our own chapel with stained glass windows. We can organize beach wedding ceremonies as well.

We will organize you dream reception at the Estate where we can cater for groups from two to 120 guests. Our in-house co coordinator can organize flowers, décor, menus, ministers, hairdressers, makeup artists etc. We are a one stop shop, even with designer Stephen Van Belkum in his studio to make an outfit. We can work with your budget in mind. You relax and we take care of every detail.

The Stephward Orchid and Exotic Plant Nursery has over 5000 orchids and the largest Heliconia collection in Africa. Howard Eades (co owner) would be delighted to show you around and even glimpse at the imported carnivorous plants.
