Stanford Valley Conference Centre and wedding venue in the beautiful Overberg region offers friendly, professional service in an exquisite and tranquil environment away from the intensity of the city. Just 135 km from Cape Town, the Stanford Valley conference centre is situated on an historic, 440ha working farm, which contributes to its unique character. The farm is 25km from the seaside town of Hermanus, making it easily-accessible for conferences, seminars, and retreats with sophisticated facilities for creative corporate think-tanks. It is also a wonderful holiday destination that offers both B&B and Self Catering accommodation. Larger events such as weddings and special celebrations are welcomed and professionally accommodated. AccommodationStanford Valley Conference Centre offers 19 en-suite double bedrooms that, depending on your needs, can be either a king-size bed or twin bedded. In some, there is the option to put in an extra bed. In keeping with the historical homestead and Cape vernacular architecture, both the restored and newly-built rooms have reed and beam ceilings, modern en-suite bathrooms (some with a shower, some with a bath and some with both). Nine have kitchenettes, which is ideal if you’re keen to do your own catering. Each room has a sweeping view of the mountains, a private veranda and a secluded garden. You can also enjoy a superb weekend away at Stanford Valley. Self-catering facilities are available, or guests can book on a bed and breakfast or ‘bed only’ basis and eat out at some of the many wonderful restaurants in the area. Conference FacilitiesOur conference facilities are extensive and we’re proud to offer two conference rooms (14m x 7m and 7m x 7m, which can be converted into one room of 21m x 7m); accommodation for up to 30 delegates in a U-shape; several breakaway areas; spacious purpose-made tables that seat four or six people; OHP; flip charts; big-screen TV & VCR; data projection; air-conditioning; dimmable lighting and blackout blinds. We also supply pens, paper, markers, chilled water and mints. Vodacom cell phone coverage is available. There are landline facilities, and the entire farm has Wi-Fi coverage, making Internet dial up effortless. A full catering service is offered for conferences. Meals and teas can be served on the veranda, on the lawn under the oaks, or in our 150-year-old Ou Huis. The 19 en-suite double / twin rooms are spacious and stylish with home comforts such as tea and coffee-making facilities and luxurious linen. WeddingsStanford Valley is a wonderful venue to celebrate a special occasion. The spectacular scenery and country air add to any engagement, wedding, birthday or anniversary. Depending on the number of guests, we can erect a marquee on the lawn or accommodate your party in the Conference Centre. In summer, the late evenings and setting sun on the mountains provide an exceptional backdrop to your special day, while in winter a roaring fire in the old hearth adds to the atmosphere. ActivitiesThere’s plenty to do in and around Stanford and the Overberg. Whale watching in season, horse riding, hiking, canoeing, quad biking, fly fishing, shark diving, river cruising, explore the fynbos covered hills on the farm which is part of the Akkedisberg Conservancy, visit nearby wine-farms and award-winning cheesery, eat at one of the many wonderful local restaurants or have a relaxing massage on the farm.
