Springbok is the ideal stop-over as it offers easy driving to Upington, Cape Town, the West coast, the Richtersveld and Namibia. Get to know Namaqualand with a visit to the Springbok Lodge & Restaurant - the only one stop accommodation service in Namaqualand.

The Springbok Lodge is a family business, operated from 1947 when it was known as the Springbok Café and Private Hotel. Today the main building houses the reception of the Lodge, the restaurant, a café and curio shop. The main building also boasts very interesting displays of mineral specimens (collected from all over the world), a photographic exhibition of the Richtersveld and historic Namaqualand as well as paintings of South African artists such as Sima Eliovson and Barbara Jeppe.

ACCOMMODATION


Various houses and buildings in the vicinity of the main building were bought and renovated through the years. The names of the houses reflect their interesting histories, e.g. Hörnemanns Haus, Die Stoor (The Store) and Die Ankerhuis (The Anchor House). Small pets allowed (please mention when booking).

We offer a wide range of accommodation for up to 210 people per night.
These include

• double or single rooms
• family units
• self-catering units
• two large houses

All rooms and units have the following basic facilities
• en-suite bathrooms
• bedding and towels
• TV with M-Net
• ceiling fans or air conditioning
• kettles

Family and self-catering units for two to five people.
The kitchens are equipped with

• fridge
• microwave oven
• kettles and toasters
• hotplate
• basic crockery, cutlery and cooking utensils

Large groups can be accommodated in either Oom Pietjie se Huis (up to 10 people) or Miss du Toit se Huis (up to 13 people). We also cater for tour groups and offer special packages for tour groups on a dinner, bed and breakfast basis.

RESTAURANT


The restaurant has been renovated and now offers seating for up to 100 people. We are open for meals from 07:00 am (8:00 am on Sundays) until 22:00 pm. The Restaurant is licensed and offers meals from an A La Carte menu. You can indulge in anything from omelettes and steaks to our well known giant milkshakes, or if you are more of an adventurer, try some of Jopie's "holy water"!
