Nestled amongst its own vineyards in the heart of the Elgin Valley, South Hill boutique wine farm provides the perfect excuse to escape the city. In addition to its superb wines, South Hill offers a great country gourmet restaurant, a luxury venue and intimate guest house.

Under an hour’s drive from Cape Town, you will find this a perfect setting for a wedding, friendly gathering, romantic weekend getaway or even better: a quiet weekday break! No matter what time of year, you will be drawn in by the changing colours of the Valleys landscape.

Accommodation

South Hills intimate Guest House offers four double en-suite rooms and a loft with a private bathroom. Each en suite room is individually decorated with doors opening on to a private patio. The main area of the villa is open plan with a kitchen, dining room table and lounge area tastefully presented overlooking a garden and surrounding vineyards. A large open fire brings warmth during those chilly winter months. Upstairs is a large loft area where can guests watch all DSTV channels, use the library or play cards

The upstairs loft converts into a fifth en suite bedroom with a double bed and three single children’s beds (sleeps five). With five rooms, the house can comfortably sleep 13 guests should you wish to rent it in its entirety. Other facilities include a 15m pool, a boule court and alfresco dining options in the garden and patio, and a pizza oven.

This 4* accredited Guest house is fully serviced and equipped for self-catering, alternatively full catering can be provided by our reputable chef and on site restaurant owner, Gordon Manuel.

South Hill also offers a beautiful Honeymoon cottage. Set away from the main house overlooking the Shiraz vineyards and a dam with its own private jetty and Jacuzzi, this intimate self-catering cottage offers couples privacy to relax and take in the farm life. The Guesthouse and Pumphouse are iPod and mp3 friendly.

Dining

Enjoy a meal at the delightful on site gourmet restaurant, namely; Gordon Manuel @ The Venue. The restaurant also caters for functions, celebrations, weddings or any other private or corporate event. With your own personal Chef located on your own private wine farm in one of the most spectacular locations in the Overberg region, your event is guaranteed to be a stunning success and hassle free!

Wine tasting is available at South Hill and a private tasting can be arranged with our winemaker, Sean Skibbe.

The Venue @ South Hill is set amidst rolling vineyards and apple orchards that swell into the beautiful Elgin Valley, set against the graceful Overberg Mountains. The Venue offers comprehensive possibilities for diverse desires and is the ultimate venue for exclusive weddings, with a combined seating capacity for indoor or outdoor functions. The Venue is different from any other venue and offers you freedom of choice. Individuality is the only rule you need to abide by.
