About Sophea Cottage and Sophea Suite
Set in the heart of Riebeek West you will find a beautiful old Victorian House, home to Sophea Cottage and Sophea Suite. These two stunning accommodation choices are set on opposite sides of the house each with their own entrance and private outdoor areas with magnificent views over the ravishing garden.
From this ideal location you are in the perfect spot to explore the Cape Winelands, a number of historic towns and the beach of Yzerfontein or Langebaan in less than an hour. Enjoy the laid back way of life in Riebeek West and tuck in to local homemade breads, farm fresh olives and wines. This is certainly the place to come for a bit of peace, quiet and rejuvenation.
Sophea Cottage and Sophea Suite are perfect for individual bookings and ideal for groups of eight persons who would prefer separate lodgings but still want to be close to one another.
Sophea Cottage (Sleeps 3 adults or 2 adults and 2 children):
This stunning cottage is part of a 100-year old barn that was beautifully restored. The cottage has been furnished and decorated tastefully to suit its grand age. You will find antique pieces, complemented by original art and simple finishes. This is a place to unwind and immerse yourself into a time when life happened at a much slower pace.
The main bedroom consists of a queen size bed and is dressed with crisp linen. A single bed can be made up in the living area for an additional guest or two children sharing. The bathroom contains a large old Victorian bath, perfect to stretch out and chill out.
If you don’t feel like a night out, sampling the fabulous food at one of the many restaurants in the Riebeek Valley, you can prepare meals in the cottage kitchen, where there is a two plate stove and bar fridge. Alternatively you can make use of the braai facilities while you take in the surrounding scenery.
Sophea Suite (Sleeps 4):
The Sophea Suite is set on the side of the Victorian House with a separate entrance from the street with its own secluded garden. The main room consists of a queen sized bed and has an En-suite bathroom with a shower. The adjoining bedroom contains two single beds.
A kettle, tea, coffee and rusks are provided, so why not make a cup of tea and enjoy it outside in the garden on the chairs and table or while stretching out on the hammock stung between the posts on the Victorian veranda.
Workshop and conference space is available on request.
