On your balcony, whilst you are having tea or coffee or a sip of wine, you overlook the Touw River and the Wilderness National Park experience a most spectacular sunset. Cuisine is of the standard you’d expect from an award-wining and internationally acclaimed establishment - among the accolades: Serendipity was chosen by “Wine Magazine” in association with Diners Club International as a Top 100 Restaurant in South Africa for five consecutive years. French champagne makers Moët & Chandon invited Rudolf and Lizelle Stolze (restaurateur and executive chef at Serendipity) as special guests to their Château de Saran at Epernay, France, the historic cradle of champagne. Serendipity Restaurant was appointed as member of the exclusive Moët & Chandon/BOE Circle of prestige restaurants in South Africa. Serendipity has been voted one of Top 10 Restaurants in the Garden Route. Most recently Lizelle has been chosen by GastroNomica as Top Chef for the Garden Route and Klein Karoo. ATTRACTIONS & ACTIVITIESThe Wilderness National Park, consisting of the Southern Cape Wetlands and Lakes and fringing mountain-forests (a UNESCO proclaimed water bird sanctuary) is a globally important bird area. Part of the scenic beauty of the Garden Route, is the Cape Folded Mountains and the mountain passes. The Outeniqua Mountain Pass between George and Oudtshoorn is considered to be one of the world's most beautiful and historic passes. Mostly tarred, but some with rustic gravel roads, like the Swartberg Pass, considered to be one of the most spectacular and breathtaking passes in Africa. The Meiringspoort is one of the more spectacular routes between the Central and Klein Karoo, snaking along the river beneath towering red rock cliffs and rolling rock formations. ACCREDITATIONS
