About Sea Shack
Sea Shack is an idyllic retreat set at the water's edge within Cape Columbine Reserve. Sea Shack is only 5kms from the picturesque fishing village of Paternoster which has a wide variety of attractions and restaurants.
There is something for everyone; activities like kayaking, horse riding and beach buggy rides are available but need to be booked in advance.
Self Catering Accommodation
There are 10 pretty 'shacks' sleeping two people per unit. The rooms each have a Queen bed or Twin beds, comfortable Cloud Nine mattresses and good quality, crisp linen. The rate includes entry to the Cape Columbine Nature Reserve.
Each wooden cabin has been personalized and themed to suit its name by the famous artist Theo Kleynhans. Whether you have the pleasure of staying in Oyster or the delight of Dolphin this is sure to be the beginning of a special memory.
Communal Facilities
We have four 'kleinhuisies' for all guests to use. Each one consists of a gas-heated shower, eco-toilet, urinal and hand basin. Guests need to bring own their towels.
A favourite place for guests to unwind, meet up and eat meals is the communal Boma. We have a fully equipped kitchen / scullery with gas cooking facilities and a shared fridge. In the evening guests collect around the fire pit to cook, laugh and kuier.
Powered by solar and gas, Sea Shack is off the grid. No hairdryers but mobile cell charging and reception is available.
About us
Sea Shack has a strong focus of environmental awareness and eco-tourism. We have a recycling program, a water wise program and work at balancing the human impact on the environment, fauna and flora around us.
The Cape Columbine Nature Reserve is peaceful and has a characteristically West Coast look and feel. In flower season (August – September) the arid veld of the Reserve comes alive with the most vibrant and beautiful flowers imaginable.
