About Sani Gables
Located in the farming village of Himeville in the Southern Drakensberg you’ll find Sani Gables a charming bed and breakfast. The house is named after the famous and precipitous Sani Pass between Lesotho and South Africa.
Enjoy the changing seasons from either the front or back seating areas as the guesthouse is built in the typical Natal Verandah style.
The guesthouse sleeps between eight and ten people in the four en-suite bedrooms each equipped with King-size beds, single beds are available on request. Honeymooners enjoy our Summer Room as it is one of the largest rooms while families are best suited to our Autumn Room as it is fitted with a sleeper-couch. Both Summer and Autumn Rooms have a bath and separate shower. Our Spring and Winter Rooms have showers only.
All rooms are provided with tea and coffee making facilities as well as heaters to warm the crisp winter air. Laundry services can be arranged.
You are welcome to make use of the fireplace in the communal lounge area. The interior of the guesthouse is step-less, and ramped access is provided. Off-street under-cover parking and WiFi are available.
In spring and summer the warmth releases the refreshing scents of roses, lavender, and cypress, while in the autumn and winter months the aroma of wood-smoke fills the air. A variety of birdlife can be spotted, including hoopoes, paradise flycatchers, rock pigeons, Cape turtle doves, red-chested cuckoo, African harrier-hawks, and many LBJs.
Whether you are feeling energetic and adventurous, or simply want to enjoy the fresh mountain air, Sani Gables will be pleased to host you during your time in the southern Drakensberg – whatever the season.
