The Lodge has been rated as 4 stars, but I would give it 5 !!!
I couldn't fault this place, everything was perfect. Upon arrival, we were greated by one of the staff members as we were unpacking our car. She then helped carry our belongings to our room. A free "welcome" drink was then presented, along with a walk through the facilities & explanation of how dining, bar drinks etc would be catered for. We were asked if we had any special dining needs (food dislikes/alergies).
They have a guests lounge room in the main section of the building, where you can read the many reference books dealing with the history of the area. There you can also have a gratus tea or coffee ... or help yourself to the honesty bar provided.
Before dinner we enjoyed a very social drink with one of the staff, and had the chance to meet the other guests (There are only 4 rooms in the lodge, so you can get to know the others quite well ... if that's your preference).
Dinner was excellent. It was a 3 course meal, beautifully presented & just as good to the palet. A wide selection of hot food/cerial/tea & coffee was available for breakfast. Breakfast time was set to OUR schedule, & Dinner & Breakfast were included in the total cost of the booking.
The room we had was superb. Heaps of space, large bathroom & with all the trimmings of a luxury resort.
Upon leaving, we were presented with a "going away" gift of bottled water & a snack. Before we left, the staff even washed our car ... at no charge !!!
I was very impressed with this lodge. Being an International airline pilot, I live in nice hotels all the time. But I can assure you that this place wins hands down.
This place has a wonderful atmosphere - wonderful location, friendly staff & I absolutely loved it !!!! |
