Re Somerset West, we stay there every year. We stay in a fantastic apartment, Roosboom. Which is 5 minutes from Stellenbosch and the rest of the winelands? Well on the way to Hermanus. About 10 minutes from the airport and a couple of minutes from Somerset West Mall (which pleases my wife) and can easily drive into Cape Town. At Roosboom we can sit in a beautiful garden and have a swim in a large pool, enjoy the company of our lovely hosts Ian and Mabel (if we wish to, otherwise we are left alone) After a day out we sit on our balcony and look our over Gordon's Bay and on towards Cape Point and enjoy a glass of wine. Everyone enjoys different things on holiday but for us it is sheer bliss. Being so handy for the N2 and so many "sights" without having to negotiate Cape Town's traffic we haven't found anywhere that suits us better. |

Just a quick note to thank you for the fantastic hospitality experienced during our stay over the weekend.
I have travelled often in my life and have rarely experienced such a perfect blend of warm hospitality, sophistication and room comfort as I have over this weekend. THANK YOU VERY MUCH. The room is tastefully appointed and everything is thought of. In addition, the breakfast was superb and we truly left with sad hearts...
Your exceptional personalities really made a difference – please keep it up. We will definitely be staying with you again when the opportunity arises!

Warmhearted friendliness and luxury. What a combination!
We decided to use Somerset West as our 'base' on our recent trip to the winelands. The best decision ever was to stay at Roosboom. Ian and Mabel made us feel right at home with their warm-hearted friendliness and the luxurious room was everything we wanted and more. Spacious. tastefully decorated with a beautiful view. We will definately visit them again. |

We had the absolute pleasure of spending a week in The Annex at Roosboom, Somerset West in December 2009. We wanted for nothing during our short, but really comfortable stay. What wonderful 'home from home' facilities were provided by Ian and Mabel, who have got to be the most amazing hosts! We arrived as strangers, but left as friends, and recommend Roosboom as a first choice of accommodation for anyone visiting Cape Town and its surrounds. We'll certainly be back! |
