These beautiful stone-clad river houses (Rock House I and II) offer a luxurious, relaxing and tranquil stay - the ideal break for the jaded urbanite seeking an authentic country experience.

Accommodation


Both houses boast a trendy open-plan kitchen, lounge with a cozy fireplace, two beautifully decorated rooms and bathrooms that are the perfect bolt holes for romantic getaways. The interior has been given a contemporary kick with a palette of neutrals peppered with bright colored soft furnishings. The swanky sundecks with sunken Jacuzzis and open fireplaces make this the best sundowner spots on the Breede River. All our houses have premium DSTV with new TV's.

Rock House I (sleeps 6)
The main bedroom has a queen bed and the second bedroom has two single beds. The couch in the lounge transforms into two proper beds for extra guests.

Rock House II (sleeps 8)
The main bedroom has a queen bed. The second bedroom also has a queen bed as well as a couch that transforms into two single beds to make this room a cozy family room. The couch in the lounge transforms into two proper beds for extra guests.

Rock House III (sleeps 6)
The main bedroom has a queen bed and the second bedroom has two single beds. The couch in the lounge transforms into two proper beds for extra guests.

Facilities


Bath towels are provided. Guests can bring extra towels for use at the river. Beds are covered with cotton percale linen and down duvets as well as electric blankets for our snowy winters.

Pets can come on holiday too by prior arrangement. Kids of all ages are welcome! Playing on the farm will give them bright eyes and rosy cheeks.

Activities and Attractions


Hiking
Situated at the foot of a mountain range, the farm is ideal for hiking. Explore your senses with the smell of fynbos, small wildlife and panoramic view of the Breede River Valley.

Kayaking
Each house has a Kayak and an old fashion row boat. No better way to observe our beautiful birdlife. Watch out for Malachite and Fish Eagle.

Fishing
The best Bass fishing spot ever. Bring your rod, tackle and bait. Please note that we operate on a “catch & release” system. Other species in the river are: Carp, Bluegill, Catfish etc.

Mountain biking
You are welcome to explore the farm or take the road parallel to the entrance road for a good climb. Other mountain bike trails nearby.

Scenic drive
The farm is situated at the Eastern entrance to the historic Bainskloof pass.

Breedekloof wine route
Our new exciting wine area boasts several wine estates and cellars with award winning wines of superior quality.

River Edge Accommodation is centrally situated: 20 minutes drive from Tulbagh, Ceres, Worcester and Rawsonville.
