Ridgedale Trout Farm is 10km from the village of Underberg in the Southern Drakensberg and just 30km from Sani Pass. We have a beautiful waterfall known as “The White Lady” entering into our dam which is stocked with rainbow and brown trout. A large thatched deck area overlooks the waterfall and dam where you can enjoy sundowners. Self Catering AccommodationWe have 8 cottages on the property, 4 of which overlook the dam. Studio Cottages We have 6 of these cottages that are equipped as follows: Twin/ double bed, bath, kitchenette with stove/oven, microwave and fridge. Patio with small braai Rainbow Trout Cottage This cottage has a bedroom with queen bed and 2 single beds in the lounge. Open plan kitchen with stove/ oven, microwave and fridge. Patio with patio furniture and small braai. Dragonfly Cottage This cottage can sleep 8 people in 4 bedrooms with 4 bathrooms. Double/ twin beds. Kitchen & dining room. Ideal for fishermen and large groups. FacilitiesFor guests’ convenience, a large thatched entertainment area, nicknamed “The Barn” has a viewing deck overlooking the trout dam that is fed by a waterfall. The Barn has a bar, fridges, braai and ice machine. This area is suitable for all types of functions. Together with our other property, Oak Tree Lodge, the self-catering cottages at Ridgedale Trout Farm are ideal for company weekends away, with Management staying at the Lodge, while staff can stay in the cottages. In this way, groups of up to 34 may be accommodated on a sharing basis. Activities & AttractionsHorse Riding can be enjoyed at Khotso Horse trails, which is just next door to us. Enjoy riding through forests and over hilltops with stunning views of the mountains and farmlands. River Rafting & Tubing is most enjoyed in the summer months and is conveniently done on the stretch of the Umzimkulu River just in front of Ridgedale Trout Farm. Trips up Sani Pass go up everyday and are led by well-informed guides. For this your passport is essential, as you will enter into Lesotho to have lunch at the highest pub in Africa at the Sani Top Chalet. Guided Quad Tours can be arranged from Sani Pass Hotel. We have trout in our own dam and bass in the dam across the road from us for excellent Fishing experiences. Paintball Games can be arranged on request (depending on number of players) on our premises and we have 3 lovely Golf courses nearby. There are local pubs, restaurants and tea gardens in the nearby villages of Underberg and Himeville.
