A beautiful upmarket restored original Victorian house, available for holiday rental. Perfectly suited to families or couples. The house is situated on the slopes of Devils Peak below Rhodes Memorial in the Southern suburbs of the beautiful Western Cape region.AccommodationThe house has a mountain view from the large covered patio. A private scented garden has a heated sparkling pool. Perfect indoor and outdoor furnished entertainment areas, conducive to eating al fresco or having a BBQ on the long summer Cape nights between November and April. The interior has gleaming wooden floors throughout the entire house. There are five double bedrooms with king and queen beds. High ceilings throughout the house and sash windows covered with wooden blinds. There are two big bathrooms with Victorian baths and a large shower. There are three fireplaces inside to warm next to on cooler nights. A very big open plan kitchen next to the dining and lounge area is fitted with a gas cooker and a convection microwave. There are wrought iron chandeliers throughout the living and sleeping areas. FacilitiesThere is a 42 inch plasma screen with satellite television, DVD, video and CD players in the lounge. Internet access also available. The lounge and dining table can seat 10 people. The house is equipped with linen, towels, crockery and cutlery, a dishwasher, washing machine and tumble dryer. A cleaning service once a week is included in the rates, more frequent cleaning service can be arranged on request. The house is well secured with wooden shutters and an alarm, the area is patrolled by the security service ADT. The pool is secured with a net. There is secure off street parking behind a remote controlled gate for 4 cars. The house is situated at the end of a very quiet cul-de-sac close to the University of Cape Town campus. Activities and Surrounding AreaThe house is within walking distance up the mountain to Rhodes Memorial and its magnificent tea garden, famous for delicious cream scones. Walking distance to the Baxter Theatre, Irma Stern museum a renowned South African artists exhibits, Mosterts Mill and Groote Schuur Hospital. If swimming, hiking up the mountain or lazying around enjoying the natural beauty of the Cape is what you love, Ravensworth is the place for you. A ten minute car journey to the Waterfront, Table Mountain, Clifton and Camps Bay beaches. Easy access to all wine routes and the many scenic tours around the Peninsula to Cape Point. Excellent golf courses “Rondebosch” and “Mowbray” within a 2 minute drivr. Advisable to hire a car. Cape Town International airport less than 10 minute drive. Rosebank railway station 500m from the house goes to Simons Town and the beautiful Boulders Beach.
