About Porcupine Place
Porcupine Place is a luxury safari tent on the edge of the Cederberg wilderness in the world-famous Rocklands bouldering area.
Self Catering Accommodation
The off-grid tent is powered by solar and gas, while the private bathroom is fuelled by a wood-fired donkey (water boiler).
The tent itself houses a double bed and comfortable leather reading chair, as well as a dining area and kitchenette outside on the stoep.
Braai facilities are also available and the farm dam doubles up as a swimming pool on those really hot days.
Activities & Attractions
For outdoor enthusiasts, the farm is home to some of the best bouldering, trad and lead climbing in the country; while hiking trails criss-cross the landscape giving avid walkers a choice of routes ranging from two up to 15 kilometers long. These trails are also speckled with rock art sites Ė including some of the best examples of /Xam and Khoi San rock art sites open to the public.
Birding enthusiasts will also find themselves scouring the cliffs for signs of Black Eagles nests, as well as the rarely spotted Black Harrier that sometimes can be spotted swooping low over the farmís fields.
Porcupine Place is situated about 30km outside of Clanwilliam in the Agter Pakhuis Valley and is the perfect spot for those looking to escape the hustle and bustle of modern city life.
