Nestled against the mountainside in a lovely and secluded part of Hout Bay, Poplar Tree Lodge offers fully equipped, superior self-catering accommodation and boasts wonderful views across the valley and the surrounding mountains.

Situated in the charming village of Hout Bay, Poplar Tree Lodge is five minutes drive from a wide range of restaurants and shops, the beach and a bustling fishing harbour. The lodge is ideally located to explore the Cape Peninsula and enjoy the spectacular views along Chapman’s Peak Drive, to go wine tasting on the Constantia Wine Route or experience the world-class restaurants and cosmopolitan night life of Camps Bay and Cape Town city.

Self Catering Accommodation

The suites have Satellite TV (20+ channels), Wi-Fi internet access, a DVD / CD player, a safe and are serviced daily Monday - Saturday (excluding public holidays). There is secure on-site parking.
The Lodge features a pretty pool and sun deck and has attractive tiered gardens. There are individual BBQs available.

Tree Top Suite
Our premier suite features a large bedroom with a king-size four-poster bed. The good size bathroom includes a corner bath and separate shower. There is a fully equipped kitchen / diner complete with a dining table and four wicker chairs. The suite has recently been redecorated and has new curtains and blinds in all rooms. Both the bedroom and the kitchen / diner open onto a large private deck with spectacular views across the valley and to the mountains around. Sleeps two and can also accommodate two children 6-9 years old in a simple mezzanine floor Nest - with restricted height. Please ask for details.

Garden Suite
A calm and restful three roomed suite. The bedroom offers a choice of either a king-size bed or twin beds and the bathroom has a bath and a separate shower. The good size living area includes a day bed and a double sleeper couch, as well as a fully equipped kitchenette with a small dining table and four chairs. New soft furnishings in the living area and the bedroom give the suite a fresh new look. The suite opens directly onto its own verandah and garden which enjoy great views over Hout Bay valley and the mountains around. Garden Suite has its own small entrance gate within the secure property for extra privacy. Sleeps three - maximum four.

Valley View Suite
A light fresh three room suite featuring a bedroom with a comfortable double bed, a bathroom with a roll top bath as well as a separate shower cubicle. The good size living area includes a day bed and sleeper couch as well as fully equipped kitchenette, a small dining table and four chairs, a double sleeper couch and a day bed. The suite has recently been refurbished with new blinds and cushions in both the bedroom and the living area, creating bright and fresh atmosphere. Sleeps three - maximum four.

The Studio
A compact/budget suite which features a wall of windows looking onto its own patio. The Studio offers the choice of a double bed or twin beds has a small dining table and two chairs, a concealed kitchenette plus and an en-suite bathroom. The suite, situated to back of the lodge, opens out onto a paved patio complete with table, chairs and a large umbrella. The patio enjoys the early morning sun as it creeps over the mountains so it’s great for those who enjoy an outdoor breakfast. Sleeps two.

Breakfast

For those wanting bed and breakfast there is the option of a continental breakfast served on the patio or in the guest’s own suite at an additional cost per person.
