Umtentweni Accommodation / Pinnacles Seaside Unit Port Shepstone Accommodation / Self Catering Cottage in Umtentweni

Found just an hours drive from Durban and situated in the Paradise of the Kingdom of KwaZulu Natal is Pinnacles Seaside Unit. Housed in an original 1938 South Coast beach cottage with high pitched ceilings and Oregon-pine floors; Pinnacles is an incredibly spacious and comfortable self catering family unit.

We are located just 80 meters from the ocean and a short stroll to the main swimming beach of “Tweni” with its protected shark nets and life guards on duty in season. A paddling pool for the little ones, a “Granny’s Pool for the family and the great open ocean for those more adventurous ones, who wish to fish, surf or dive. With rocks laden with mussels and sightings of dolphins, whales and sea turtles as well as the spectacular annual "Sardine Run" an added bonus, welcome to our bit of heaven.

With the ocean being so close one is able to fall asleep with the sound of the waves breaking on the shore and then get up early in the morning and take a walk on the beach to see the sun rise over the ocean whilst the last of the ghost crabs scamper back to their holes in the sand.

Self Catering Accommodation

Unit 1
Sleeping four, the fully furnished family unit with private entrance, consists of two bedrooms (one double bed and two single beds) lounge, kitchen and separate bathroom and toilet.

There is an outside covered patio area with barbecue facilities and ample in ground parking. The lounge has a large television set, DVD player, VCR and HI-FI unit. The unit is wired for DSTV (bring your own decoder and smart card). Fans are provided in the lounge and bedrooms. There is a safe for your valuables.

The kitchen is fully equipped with full stove, double door fridge / freezer and microwave oven. All crockery, cutlery and pots and pans are provided. All bedding is supplied as well.

Unit 2
Consists of one bedroom (one x double bed), lounge, kitchen and separate bathroom with shower and toilet. The fully equipped kitchen comprises a fridge / freezer, a gas hob and a convection oven with grill and microwave. The lounge has a TV and DVD player and is wired for DSTV - just bring your own decoder and smart card. Both the lounge and bedroom have ceiling fans. There is a covered patio and barbecue facilities are provided.

Guests are to supply their own towels.

Location

Away from the crowds, yet close by to all the necessary shopping facilities, pubs, restaurants and other tourist attractions. We are located in Umtentweni; just before Port Shepstone and are easily accessible from the toll road or the Old South Coast provincial road.

Attractions and Activities

All the fabulous green turfs of the South Coasts seven world famous golf courses are in close proximity: as close as five minutes to Port Shepstone Country Club or as far as a half hours drive away to the challenging  Wild Coast Sun Course. 

Oribi Gorge and Lake Eland with its heart stopping suspension bridge are nearby attractions as are Beaver Creek Coffee Farm and Clearwater Mountain Bike Trails. Enjoy the fabulous and tasty world famous waffles at the Waffle House in Ramsgate or visit the snakes and other creepy crawlies housed in the Pure Venom Snake Park.

Take a trip to see the crocodiles being feed at Riverbend Crocodile Farm in Southbroom or go crazy and experience the Wild Swing at Oribi. There are several art galleries and craft shops located all along the south coast region. All these venues and attractions are easily accessible from Tweni and make for a lovely days outing.
