About Pelican House
Our newly built, self catering holiday house with a nautical feel, is situated on the canals of Admiral Island in Port Owen.
Port Owen is a marina is surrounded on three sides by the Great Berg River and is one kilometre from the harbour mouth where the river meets St Helena Bay. This bay, the largest on the West Coast of Africa, offers the finest sailing conditions on the South African coastline due to its sheltered nature and orientation to the prevailing summer wind.
Self Catering Accommodation
The spacious open plan living area flows out to the veranda and the fully fitted modern kitchen. This beauty sleeps six comfortably in three bedrooms with an additional sleeper couch for children in the living area.
The main bedroom is fitted with a Queen size bed and includes an en-suite bathroom, whilst the middle and front rooms are fitted with two single beds that can be combined to create a king size bed. Clean bed linen supplied for each bedroom as well as fresh towels for the bathrooms.
The dining area is fitted with a fire place for those chilly evenings and is in close reach of the kitchen. A security alarm is provided as well as secure onsite parking.
Local Attractions and Amenities
The marina is adjacent to the fishing harbour of Laaiplek and is surrounded by salt marsh. The area is renowned for its bird life as well over 350 different sea, land and river birds can be found here.
The Harbour Centre has a health spa, pub, restaurant, hairdressing salon, cafe and estate agency.
