Palm Dune Beach Lodge is situated just forty minutes north of Durban on a secluded beach known as Blythedale Beach. Being right on the beach and adjacent to a nature reserve makes the venue highly versatile and ideal for weddings, conferences or a relaxing family holiday. A Lodge of this nature is a rare find on the sought after Dolphin Coast of KwaZulu Natal and is within easy reach of the major cities and towns of Durban, Richards Bay and Pietermaritzburg. Gateway shopping centre is only 35 minutes drive from the Lodge and Durban International Airport only 55 minutes. AccommodationThe Lodge boasts 32 en-suite air-conditioned rooms; these rooms can be configured into self catering family units with fully equipped kitchens, lounge with television (local SABC and MNET channels). Braai facilities are available. The units are serviced on a daily basis. FacilitiesThe dining room is elevated, providing stunning views over the ocean and seats up to 80 people in comfort. A small lounge area with a fireplace provides the ideal place to enjoy a cognac, cigar and good conversation. For more social evenings there is a fully stocked and serviced bar. A large deck extends from the dining room open to the atmosphere of the warm Indian Ocean. The deck is equipped with a traditional braai and spit roast facility and seats a further 60 people. Nestled between the main facility and the rooms is a large sparkling swimming pool to cool off on a hot summer's day. Guests can relax around the pool and enjoy service from the kitchen and bar. ConferencesTwo superbly appointed conference facilities, two swimming pools, a fully catered and serviced dining room, bar and deck overlooking the sea. The atmosphere is comfortable and relaxed with service to rooms, to the beach or in the lounge, bar or pool area. The kitchen serves a wide variety of cuisine, from traditional South African favourites to our mouth-watering Seafood Extravaganza. Teambuilding events can be arranged to suite all your requirements whether it’s a relaxing game of volleyball on the beach or an adrenaline rush activity that you are looking for. WeddingsBeing right on the beach and situated between two estuaries, creating a beautifully protected bay, makes the venue perfect for weddings on the beach of up to 200 guests. Choices of menu options are available to suite any requirements and our experienced chef’s can tailor make menus on request. Adding to the atmosphere are the beautiful surroundings for photographic opportunities to capture your special moments for a lifetime. Attractions & ActivitiesThe region is blessed with an all round summer, which places no limits on timing. Our in house co-ordinators are there every step of the way using their experience to ensure that each bridal couple has a flawless day. For the golfer, Palm Dune is central to six top-class courses within a 25-kilometre radius. Big 5 Game reserves are just 2 hours from the Lodge.
