Wake up in the morning, feeling comfy in your percale cotton linen with mountain views from the queen-size bed. The bathroom with shower, basin and toilet provides hot water from solar with a back-up wood burning donkey heater. The lounge has a couch, table and chairs for eating dinner by the fireplace (or breakfast with a view) and there’s a bookshelf filled with all manner of interesting books. The cottage is clean and cozy, with a large fireplace indoors for chilly winter nights and there is an outside rustic fire pit close to the cottage for appreciating the calm beautiful evenings, braai grids are available to use. There’s not much that beats stargazing on a clear night in the Karoo. The cottage has a fully equipped kitchen with quality pots and pans, crockery and cutlery, a gas stove-oven and small gas fridge. Free Wi-Fi is available on the farm from the owner’s cottage at any time.

    Why do I have to pay a deposit?

    This is a sign of good faith. Properties hold rooms for you, which they could sell to someone else, so if you don't turn up, they lose revenue. By paying a deposit of 50% (industry standard) you show the property that you are intending to arrive and they will accordingly turn others away.

    Can I pay the deposit at month end?

    That depends on the property. Many have real time booking calendars, allowing people to book instantly online. If that's the case, bookings are first-come-first-book, and no rooms will be held provisionally unless specifically arranged. Send a request and ask for a specific payment date and they'll get back to you.

    What is 3D Secure?

    This is a security layer which checks that the person making the payment is the authorised cardholder by way of a one-time pin delivered by SMS or a secret code, ensuring the safety of your card.
