Noorspoort offers affordable luxury accommodation, self catering units, a caravan park, bush camping, wedding venues, agri-game drives, bird watching tours, 4x4 routes and a quad bike trail. This all situated on 8000 hectares in the tranquility of the Southern Karoo vastness.

Noorspoort Guest Farm is divided into a 3000 hectares game reserve as well as a 5000 hectares working smallstock farm. Noorspoort Game Reserve hosts species like wildebeest, zebra, kudu, blesbuck, springbuck, red hartebeest, gemsbuck etc. On our farming side you can experience sheep and angora goat farming in their natural setting. Kids can help with the feeding of the lambs, pigs, geese or help gather eggs.

Three converging plant biomes include Cycads, Euphorbias and Haworthias and host a wide variety of Karoo bird species. Visit our cycad forest or walk to the fountain for a picnic with its proteas in the fynbos area. The Great Gamtoos river runs through Noorspoort and adds to the abundant bird and plant life. Noorspoort Guest Farm is rated three stars by the SATGC and is Highly Recommended by the AA.

ACCOMMODATION

Affordable luxury accommodation
Laze at Noorspoort Guest Lodge, our luxury 150 year old colonial accommodation at the Gateway to the Baviaanskloof. Noorspoort has been home to four generations Haywards and now two generations Cravens - and we extend a warm welcome to you. Our honeymoon suite offers an en-suite bathroom with a ball and claw bath and a huge king size bed. Four rooms offer twin extra-length ¾ beds with fabulous percale cotton linen and hypo-allergenic goose down duvets. The family room has two extra-length ¾ beds and up to three beds for the kids in the stoep room. All rooms have squeaky clean white tiled en-suite bathrooms with showers.

Oudepos self-catering accommodation
Stay at one of our two self-catering houses. Oudepos offers one room with a queen size bed and three rooms with bunk-beds. Oudepos sits on a hill with a stunning 360° view of the Southern Karoo. Watch kudu, small buck, monkeys or birds while enjoying sundowners on the stoep. Bring binoculars! Oudepos can sleep up to 24 people. Fully equiped kitchen and with three bathrooms with showers. All beds have hypo-allergenic goose down duvets. Ideal for groups or the single family that need a breakaway.

Reinecke self-catering accommodation
If you would like to be closer to Noorspoort Guest Lodge with its swimming pool, the Reynecke house is for you. Situated only 300m from the main lodge, the Reynecke house has three bedrooms, one with a queen size bed two with bunk-beds. All beds have hypo-allergenic goose down duvets. Fully equiped kitchen and sports three bathrooms. Can sleep up to 20 people on bunk-beds.

The Boma Camping site
You will have this secluded spot in the game reserve all to yourself. Nestled on the banks of the Great Gamtoos, this is the ideal spot to get away from it all. The boma has a real old-style bush donkey (warm water tank) under which you will have the fun of making a fire for your own warm water. The two bush showers have stunning views over the river and the Vaalkrans hill range. There is a braaipit, reed screen, three bush toilets, a bush table, a brack water basin - and that’s it. Drive around the game reserve as you please. Bring your own tent and enjoy nature. Do not expect grass lawns – this is as au natural as it gets!

The Caravan Park
This basic but functional caravan park is next to the swimming pool at Noorspoort Guest Lodge. The caravan park can host 5-6 caravans under old blue-gum trees.

Weddings at Noorspoort
Choose between two wedding reception venues and tie the knot under the gazebo in our beautiful garden. Or for a stunning alternative, get married at the fantastic geological wonder of Draaikrans. Our two farm reception venues can host 50 or 150 people respectively with full catering and accommodation. Larger wedding groups can be held with extra marquis tents. Tours
Enjoy a Guided Birding Tour or an historic Walkabout Tour of Steytlerville or a cultural tour of Steytlerville can be organized by pre-arrangement. Visit our Noorspoort Farm Observatory: Stargaze through an 10-inch deep space telescope at bright night sky objects and be amazed. You absolutely must visit the geological wonder of Draaikrans, only 1 ½ km from Noorspoort Guest Lodge. See how the Cape Folds were formed into a perfect parabole eons ago. Enjoy a sunset agri-game/bush drive with sundowners at the Lookout. Go on a bush hike or do night time game viewing. The more adventureous can buzz along our ±50km scenic quad or mountain bike routes.

Dok se Hok
Visit Dok se Hok, a bush pub with a difference. This tribute to the rugby legend Dr Danie Craven hosts some of his memorabilia and is run by his son and grandson.

Drive into the World Heritage site of the Baviaanskloof for a picnic or start your circular route through the Baviaanskloof with Noorspoort Guest Farm as base. Various easy drives through the game reserve are available on Noorspoort Guest Farm. Our dirt roads in the vicinity offer superb easy driving with magnificent views.
