About NiederHeim B&B
We, Esther and Jan Nieder-Heitmann, resident owners and managers of NiederHeim B&B, cordially invite you to share our spacious, up-market and charming home in leafy Loevenstein, Bellville, Cape Town. Our B&B’s name, NiederHeim, is derived from our surname and means ‘NetherHome’ – your home away from home down in the Mother City.
Our ‘Highly Recommended’ AA grading attests to a ‘property that offers high levels of professionalism and attention to detail in the decor, quality of furnishings and service.’ At NiederHeim B&B we pride ourselves in combining warm Cape Dutch hospitality, beauty, style, luxury, cleanliness, tranquillity and privacy. In consideration of the interests of all guests we welcome all and sundry. We deem your safety, belongings and vehicle of high importance. Our motto: ubuntu – hospitality – botho – gasvryheid succinctly expresses our values and our ability to provide service in a number of South Africa’s official languages, including SA Sign Language.
NiederHeim B&B is a mere 500 m from the N1 and other major routes – just far enough to be restful, yet close enough to have ready access to business, recreational, sightseeing and other places of importance. We are for instance within walking distance from the USB (University of Stellenbosch Business School) and, WorleyParsons’ Cape Town offices are just around the corner.
Once our children had left home, we had their three bedrooms recreated as en suite guestrooms. ‘Twee Jong Geselle’ has twin single beds whereas ‘Connoisseurs’ and ‘Ou Meester’ have double beds. The latter also has a single sleeper couch. A baby’s cot can also be made available. All our beds are fitted with Cloud Nine mattresses, heated blankets and percale linen. Inside each room there also are a table and chairs, DStv Premium bouquet with flat screen TV, air-conditioning, wireless internet reception, hot beverage facilities, heated towel rail, a safe and hair dryer. Each room also boasts a private entrance on a vine covered porch overlooking a portion of our beautiful enclosed garden. Each has a table and chairs.
A kitchenette takes care of guests’ self catering needs. It is equipped with a scullery, two plate stove, kettle, plunger and filter coffee, microwave / griller oven, toaster, electric frying pan, fridge, courtesy bar with drinks and snacks, crockery, cutlery and tables for enjoying self- cooked or take away meals or, when arranged, supper provided by us.
An ironing board and iron are also available. For guests staying longer, laundry can be arranged. Braai (barbeque) equipment can also be made available.
For our renowned a la carte breakfast you are invited to be our private guests in our large dining room / lounge, which offers panoramic views of the Cape Peninsula extending from Table Mountain in the west all the way to Hangklip in the east. During our Cape winter we warm you with a friendly fire burning in a genuine classic Dutch Beckers stove, whereas in summer you can enjoy the ocean breeze through the open sliding door. Visiting students and business people also have their meetings here from time to time, whether seated around the dining table, the conference table or the circle of lounge chairs.
Our property is wind shielded by shady trees planted half a century ago by renowned botanist, the late Professor Christo Pienaar. A myriad of indigenous Cape birds frequent our garden and especially enjoy our bird bath, which is a moss and fern clad fountain crafted from Table Mountain sandstone.
