Accommodation
Lidgett’s Grant is the old farmhouse on the property that has been refurbished to match the contemporary style of Netherwood. Although it has been upgraded to its 4 star quality, it has not lost its history and homeliness. * Please note that Lidgett's Grant is only hired out as a whole, and not by individual rooms. Bookings for the house alone are only taken from 2 months prior to the check in date.
The house is a self-catering unit and facilities include:

• sleeps maximum of 20

• Three lounges
• TV room with satellite dish
• fireplaces throughout
• central courtyard with braai
• open verandah overlooking paddocks
• a short walk from the trout fishing dams
• a short walk from the wedding venue and chapel
The Chapel
The chapel is perched on a rocky outcrop overlooking the valleys of Nottingham Road and Balgowan as well as the Drakensberg Mountains in the background. Landmarks include Michaelhouse, Rawdons, Giant’s Castle and the Kamberg. The sun sets slowly over all these mountains, creating a perfect view from the chapel at sundown. The chapel seats 130 people on traditional-style, restored pews.
Wedding Reception Venue
The venue is nestled at the bottom of a small forest walkway, only a short stroll from the chapel. Here you are greeted with aged pine trees overlooking the building. Once round the front, the view extends over the working Angus farm and is highlighted by three tiered dams. A double-sided bar built of rocks serves both inside and outside and provides a full bar service. The reception area seats up to 250 people although the built in voile drapes can close off small sections to cater for a more intimate 100 - seater wedding.
The design and layout was focused on allowing the natural beauty of the surrounding area to speak for itself. Glass, steel and natural stone form the shell - with details in vintage sleepers. Both the chapel and the venue have frame less glass stacking doors that allow the outdoors to pour in, and opens up the structures to 360 degree views of the peaceful surroundings.
Facilities include:
• Gas fireplaces throughout
• Full height frame less glass doors and windows
• Parquet dance floor
• Double sided (serving inside and outside) rock bar
• Richly layered interior finishes
• Fully fitted kitchen
• Chairs
• Rectangular tables and white table cloths
• Crockery, cultery and glassware
• A fully stocked bar
• Podiums for speakers
With sweeping views of the surrounding farm valleys, dams and across to the Drakensberg, Netherwood offers a unique combination of contemporary design, in the countryside.
