I absolutely loved staying at the apartment. It was like being in my home with all the space and utilities available. My two sons were able to enjoy the same space they would have in our home. Kevin and Karen have really gone the extra mile in ensuring that guests are comfortable without too much of the effort related to self catering. For instance, there is a washing machine, dish washer and DSTV.
I particularly liked that the apartment was within walking distance to the beach but not right on the beach. Cape Town can be very windy with unpredictable weather. Being slightly inland helps one avoid the harsh winds. |

This guesthouse exceeded my expectations. I stayed from Jan 14 - Feb 17 2010 and I felt completely at home from the moment I arrived. It was enormous, clean, and tastefully decorated with all the modern amenities one needs. It was very close to the Valsbai train station which helped for me as I did not have a car (only about 45 mins to Cape Town city center by train). Kevin and Karen were wonderful, educated landlords and very helpful if needed, but also respectful of privacy. This place is also great if you have children as Planet Kids (a large indoor play center) is right next door. The beach is only a 10 minute walk and there is lots of public play areas for the kids near the beach as well. Muizenberg is a very unique, beautiful place. I plan on returning to MountainSurf in the future! |

The apartment is like a home away from home! It is light and airy, spacious enough for a group, and graciously decorated with hardwood floors and all the amenities a weary or expectant traveler might desire. The location is within walking distance to the train, bus stop and beach and you can't miss finding it by car due to its distinctive color! Muizenburg is part of a chain of beachside towns that are all well-worth seeing while on the Cape. I was in the area to volunteer with a project in Khayelitsha and found Muizenburg to be closer (and a much easier drive) to the township than Cape Town. |
