Accommodation

The accommodation comprises elegantly furnished rooms, all with bathrooms en-suite. Choose from standard double rooms, a junior suite and two executive suites.

Each room has its own adjoining private patio leading onto the lawns and the rock pool with an uninterrupted view towards Hodgsons Peaks and the sometimes snow-covered mountain tops of the Lesotho Kingdom. In the event of a mains failure, a sufficiently large generator will support electric services.

All our rooms and bathrooms have under floor heating and are provided with wireless internet access, DStv, bath robes and tea and coffee facility. Each room has its own adjoining private patio leading onto the lawns and the rock pool with an uninterrupted view over our dam. In the event of a mains failure, a sufficiently large generator will support all electrical services.

Rooms:
• Room 1: Executive Suite with shower and bath
• Rooms 2, 3, 4, 6 and 7: Standard Suites with overhead shower on bath
• Room 5: Junior Suite with overhead shower on bath
• Room 8: Executive Suite - honeymoon suite with double shower head, freestanding bath and private patio with access to the rock pool
• Rooms 9 - 12: Standard Rooms with shower only. Rooms 9 and 10 share an interleading door. Rooms 11 and 12 share a living room.

Dining

The food we serve in our dining room and on our terrace is always freshly prepared to order in our kitchen. Our menu offers an interesting variety of starters, mains and desserts. We have an extensive wine list.

Activities and Attractions

HEALTH SPA’S
We have a Spa on the premises, Blush Skin Care Clinic. Please ask for Heidi Lee to advise you on details and make the necessary arrangements.

HORSE RIDING
A qualified guide will take the group whether you are a beginner, intermediate or an advanced rider on either a one or two hour trail into the Drakensberg Mountains on horseback. The scenery is a picture to behold. Tea & Biscuits will be supplied on the break. Operators quote.

HIKING & SAN ROCK ART
Qualified guides and custodians will take you to the age old Rock art sights in and around the Southern Drakensberg. A level of fitness is required and full and half day hikes are available at different tariffs.

FISHING GUIDE
A qualified guide to teach or guide you on the in’s and outs of finishing in the Drakensberg, bass or trout. To do this activity a daily fishing permit is needed. A local establishment in the town of Underberg supplies these permits. Please note that this is a summer activity.

GOLF
In the Southern Drakensberg area we have three golf courses. Drakensberg Gardens, Sani Pass Hotel and the Underberg Country Club. Bookings are essential.

BIRDING
Birding in the Drakensberg and Lesotho is the most popular outdoor activity for visitors. The region holds a number of unique species that birders come from all over South Africa and overseas to see.

RIVER RAFTING & TUBING
Grab a tube and go down the Umzimkhulu. Summer activity as the river is extremely cold in the winter.

MOUNTAIN BIKING
Around the area on Underberg there are many gravel roads with endless scenic cycle routes. There is a local shop that hires bicycle out for a day at a time.

Location

Our location just off the junction leading towards the Sani Pass makes us the ideal “base camp” for a trip either with your own 4x4 vehicle or with a tour operator to the top of the pass and beyond into the kingdom of Lesotho (valid passports essential.) We’ll be happy to arrange for guided hikes to legendary rock art sites, birding or excursions on horseback. Guests who enjoy the quieter things in life may just want to relax with a good book in our lounge, stroll in our extensive gardens or try some bass fishing in our dam.
