Milkwood Cottage is your private hide-away in the heart of the Garden Route, situated at Hersham Beach, Great Brak River, South Africa. This cosy yet spacious cottage is nestled amongst Milkwood trees and offers an ideal retreat for a relaxing holiday. Milkwood Cottage offers self catering holiday accommodation to a maximum of 8 people in the cottage. An extra couple can however also be accommodated on the property in an over-night room with its own full en-suite bathroom, bar fridge and kettle.AccommodationThe cottage comprises of a spacious open plan lounge / kitchen, four double bedrooms, with three en-suite bathrooms. The fourth bedroom is separately located (outside entrance) downstairs with its own bathroom. The fully equipped kitchen offers a microwave, fridge / freezer, a 4 plate gas hob as well as all the necessary cutlery / crockery for a convenient stay. A cosy ceramic fireplace in the lounge heats the whole cottage making it an ideal getaway during the winter months. French doors open onto the sun deck with a Weber braai for outdoor living in this tranquil setting. Enjoy the privacy the lush garden offers whilst enjoying the abundant bird life (30+ species) of the area. The garden boasts a trampoline, swings, big sandpit and tree house that will keep the children entertained while you relax on the deck. Bath towels and linen are provided, but please bring your own beach towels. TV1, 2 3 and ETV are provided; please bring your smart card if you would like DSTV. There is also a DVD player and DVD’s can be rented in Great Brak, a five minute drive away. Secure parking on the property means one less thing to worry about! Attractions and ActivitiesA brisk five minute walk from the cottage will take you to the sea for a stroll or swim at Hersham Beach. There is also a swimming beach at Southern Cross, Great Brak or at the Great Brak Lagoon, ideal for children with its safe, calm waters and very popular for a picnic or braai. The cottage is situated a five minute drive from the village of Great Brak. The town offers all amenities including supermarkets, a pharmacy, doctors, a library, churches, laundromats, restaurants and coffee shops. A 15 minute drive takes you to the George Airport. For a quick round of golf, the Dolphin Creek Golf Course is down the road or for the more seasoned golfer, the choices are endless from Bramble Hill at Fancourt to the new Pinnacle Point in Mossel Bay. There are a variety of mountain bike options in the area, 4 x 4 routes, paddling, kayaking and fishing … come explore and discover this beautiful part of the Garden Route!
