Middle Beach House is a comfortable home which is occupied by the owner when it is not rented out. The attractive setting is protected from the weather by the dunes and is opposite a nature reserve with lots of birdlife. The beautiful Knysna Loerie is often sighted. The tiny “grysbokkie” makes regular appearances.

Accommodation

There are three large and airy bedrooms. The main bedroom has a queen size bed, the second bedroom a double bed and two single beds in the 3rd bedroom. There are lots of cupboard space and two bathrooms, one of which is a luxury en-suite.

The attractive kitchen and scullery/laundry are fully equipped with washing machine tumble dryer, deep freeze, fridge, microwave, glass top stove and numerous small electrical equipment that would satisfy every cook’s needs. A domestic worker is included in the rates.

There are 3 TV’s with DSTV; one in the main bedroom, one in the separate TV room / pub and one in the large dining room/lounge area. All the entertaining areas have glass sliding and folding doors, which open out to a covered patio with braai facilities. It is the ideal house for entertaining your friends.

Location

The house is situated 5 minutes walk from the central beach which is halfway between the Kariega River mouth and the Bushmans River mouth, with pristine beaches stretching in between.

Activities

Favourite past times are sunbathing, swimming, surfing, kite surfing. There is an active deep sea fishing club with opportunities to charter a fishing trip. Rock and surf fishing is also very rewarding on this stretch of beach. Both the Kariega and Bushmans rivers are navigable and ideal for canoeing or waterskiing.

There are numerous game farms in the area. At Sibuya, Kariega, Lalibela, Shamwari and the Addo Elephant Park you can view the Big Five in a malaria free area.

The Beachcombers Horse Trail is a must for the keen horse lovers. Kenton-on-Sea is surrounded by beautiful countryside with a wide choice of hiking trails and bird watching opportunities.

Attractions

Kenton-on-Sea can cater to most of your needs with Spar Supermarket, Pharmacy, beach wear boutiques, gift shops, bank agencies and ATM, bottle stores and butcheries. There is a selection of coffee shops, pubs and restaurants, one of which is built on a dune overlooking the Kariega river mouth.

For a wider variety to choose from; Port Alfred is only 15 minutes drive away and at the new Rose Hill Mall you will find a Woolworths, Clicks etc. The Royal Port Alfred Golf Club is a 18 hole golf course that is immaculately kept and in the opposite direction from Kenton-on-Sea there is the Alexandria Golf Cub also about 15 minutes drive away.

Bathurst is an original historic English Settlers town 12 kilometers from Port Alfred. There are art galleries, the Pig and Whistle Pub, the Agricultural Museum to visit.
