The Melville Koppies Nature Reserve is a short walk away and provides you with a small but typical area of indigenous (High)veld to walk in. You can see approximately 45 species of trees & plants, and 50 bird species in the koppies. There are several high points where you can sit and enjoy the views of the far north of Johannesburg, south to Melville and east to the Johannesburg's cityscape. Emmarentia dam can be seen to the north. The surrounding park is good for a day in the sun, cycling and watching local 'sailors' on their boats.
