The Melville Turret Guest House offers guests a choice of six en-suite rooms and two self-catering suites in Melville, Johannesburg.

ACCOMMODATION


En-suite Bed & Breakfast Accommodation:
Five units have showers, three have bath/showers. Our 6 en-suite rooms are spacious and comfortable. Each room has it's own private entrance and is equipped with a TV, a telephone, underfloor heating, tea and coffee facilities, a workdesk with modem and electrical plugs at hand. All rooms are serviced daily.

Self Catering Accommodation:
Our two self-catering suites consist of a bedroom, bathroom, and a lounge / kitchenette area containing a sink, a fridge, a small stove/oven, pans, crockery and cutlery, a small dining table and a sofa. Both units open onto an courtyard garden. Some rooms open onto gardens, others have views of the city. But no matter what room you choose, you're likely to have a pleasant stay!

Breakfast


Your breakfast consists of fruit juices, fresh fruit salad, yoghurt, muesli & cereals, bacon, eggs, toast, cheese, jams & savoury spreads and filter coffee & a variety of teas. Breakfast is served from 07h00 and is included in your daily rate. Enjoy your breakfast in our dining room or with city views outside on our patio.

ADDITIONAL SERVICES


Free daily, weekly and weekend newspapers.
Babies are welcome! We have a camper-cot for your baby, but please bring your own baby linen.
We have FREE email & web-browsing facilities available - you pay only for the local call.
Fax facilities are also available. Fax prices depend on the destination.
Fireworks on the first Sunday of November, courtesy of the Johannesburg Country Club!

LOCATION


We are 10 minutes away from Rosebank, 15 minutes to Sandton, 15 minutes to Soweto and 5 minutes to Newtown. It is a 30 minute car ride from Johannesburg International Airport.

MELVILLE ATTRACTIONS


The Melville Koppies Nature Reserve is a short walk away and provides you with a small but typical area of indigenous (High)veld to walk in. You can see approximately 45 species of trees & plants, and 50 bird species in the koppies. There are several high points where you can sit and enjoy the views of the far north of Johannesburg, south to Melville and east to the Johannesburg's cityscape. Emmarentia dam can be seen to the north. The surrounding park is good for a day in the sun, cycling and watching local 'sailors' on their boats.
