About Magellan's Passage Guest House
We are a corporate eco lodge with stunning views over False Bay and the Swartkop Nature Reserve. From July to October you can see the southern right whale from the balcony through our telescope or the ships and submarines of the SA Navy.
We are a nautical themed guest house with interesting decor. All the bedrooms are named after famous ships. They all have well appointed, spacious bedrooms, individually designed and decorated with great emphasis on comfort and extravagant luxury.
All rooms come standard with aircon, en suite bathroom, dressing tables and chairs / sofa’s, telephone (landline), flat screen TV (wall mounted) with guest house satellite bouquet channels, safe (fits a laptop), mini bar fridge, hairdryer, bathrobe, bathroom (with under-floor heating) and beach towels, clock radio, complimentary toiletries, fan, heater, international plug points. A DVD player is available on request.
Room service is available on request during certain times. Balcony-only sea facing suites (smoking permitted on balcony). All rooms have king or twin beds with excellent quality white cotton linen and a particularly spacious bathroom with quality taps, tiles and fittings. White towels and face cloths are provided. All bathrooms have big baths and large showers as well as double hand basins and mirrors. Extra touches in these bathrooms including tissues, shower caps, shoe mitts, vanity and sewing kits.
Rooms are cleaned daily and bed linen and towels changed daily (housekeeping service). Complimentary newspapers are provided and there is a library on the premises.
We have two guest lounges (one sea facing), lounge, dining room and balcony with majestic views of False Bay. The other guest lounge faces Table Mountain National Park. There is no TV in lounges but music, books, magazines are provided. The lounges have modern decor with plush sofas and easy chairs. Both are very spacious with spectacular views, interesting art and beautiful decorative pieces.
The guesthouse offers a restaurant. Guests can enjoy a complimentary Continental and English hot breakfast each morning. Lunch and dinners are available on request. There is a bar on site.
Services and Facilities
Public areas and guest rooms are equipped with complimentary wireless Internet access. A beach shuttle and a train station pick-up service are complimentary for guests. Airport transfers and concierge service are available. The guest house has a lift. The staff are multilingual and are knowledgeable on local attractions.
Situated on a steep slope, this four level house has direct access to Table Mountain National Park with a private path into the nature reserve. The mountain views are breathtaking. The terraced garden is newly landscaped with indigenous plants and it is only a 10 minute walk to the beach.
Reception is open during office hours and smoking is allowed in demarcated areas. Off street parking is available and we always have a night manager on duty.
