In the 'hood, Glenwood as a destination

The catered and self-catering accommodation in Durban's suburb of Glenwood is fabulous for those visiting South Africa with a penchant for city life and gorgeous beaches. Directions to Mackaya Bella Guest House

From King Shaka International Airport:
• Exit the airport following the directions to the N2 (South) and follow the N2 to Durban
(approximately 30 km) until you reach ‘spaghetti junction’, the four-level interchange with
the N3, and take the lane left to Durban
• Follow the directions below, as if driving from Pietermaritzburg

From the N3 from Pietermaritzburg:
• The third exit after the four-level interchange is Exit 3 / Berea Road / M13 Tollgate,
coming up a hill crested by the characteristic ‘Tollgate Bridge’ over the motorway. Take this
exit and proceed through the traffic light intersection with Peter Mokaba (Ridge) Road
(next to the bridge) down King Dinuzulu (Berea) Road North
• Here is a one-way road system. Cross the intersection with Stephen Dlamini
(Essenwood) Road (traffic lights), then turn right at the next intersection, Musgrave Road
(traffic lights). Cross the bridge over the freeway and immediately turn right again at the
traffic lights, up King Dinuzulu (Berea) Road South
• At the next intersection (traffic lights) turn left into Lena Ahrens (Manning) Road. Pass
straight through four intersections with traffic lights [the last being Alan Paton (Macdonald)
Road], then follow Lena Ahrens for another approximately 1km as it winds through the
suburb of Glenwood
• Look for Durban Girls High School on the left hand side, on the corner of Penzance Road.
Turn left into Penzance Road
• Mackaya Bella Guest House is the third house on the right hand side opposite the
school (turn around the central island)

From Port Shepstone on the N2:
• Approaching Durban past Amanzimtoti, as you pass the old Durban airport, the freeway splits, with the M4 to the Durban City Centre peeling off the N2
• Stay on the N2 with signs saying Stanger / KwaDukuza and King Shaka International Airport. After 3 km pass Exit 154 Higginson Highway
• After another 7 km take Exit 161 Edwin Swales Drive / Queensburgh
• At the traffic light turn right under the freeway into Edwin Swales Drive (M7)
• At the next traffic light (about 1 km), turn left into Vusi Mzimela (Bellair) Road. You pass Inkosi Albert Luthuli Central Hospital on your left hand side
• About 1 km further on, turn right at the next traffic light into Rick Turner (Francois) Road. This goes up a hill with the University at the top. Cross the traffic lights at Debonairs / Steers / KFC corner
• Turn left at 2nd road to the left into Lena Ahrens (Manning) Road
• Turn right at the second road into Penzance Road. Durban Girls High School is on the corner
• Mackaya Bella Guest House is the third house on the right hand side opposite the
school (turn around the central island)
