About Le Bonheur Guest Manor
Situated in Upington, Le Bonheur Guest Manor was established in 1985 by Niel Stemmet. The river front property was converted from a family home into a guest house where guests are offered real, warm and honest Northern Cape service.
Guests at the Manor can enjoy relaxing in the tranquil gardens, cat fishing, river swimming or boat rides on Sakkie Se Arkie, bird watching and golf at Upington Golf Club. You will love our relaxed ambience and comfortable accommodation.
Le Bonheur Manor is a 450mē double storey home set in lush green gardens on the banks of the Orange River. The main downstairs lounge area boasts a fireplace and is decorated with a selection of contemporary furniture and modern South African art.
The guesthouse consists of five en-suite bedrooms and one family room. The family room offers double and twin beds, one shower and overlooks the garden. Four of the outside rooms have private entrances. All bedrooms in the manor have white percale linen, air-conditioning, heating and selected satellite TV channels.
The house is within easy walking distance from the central business district of Upington, the gateway to the Kalahari making it an ideal stop-over for both business and leisure travellers.
Breakfast is available on request and can be enjoyed either in the foyer-breakfast-reception room or on the terrace which offers exquisite views over the garden and river.
Upington offers the ideal base from which to explore the Augrabies National Park, Witsand, Kakamas, various other local sights and film locations. Upington is the ideal stopover to the Kgalagadi Transfrontier Park, Tswalu Game Reserve and Namibia.
Upington is situated 800km from Johannesburg, Windhoek, Port Elizabeth, George and Cape Town and is only a 200 km detour on the Johannesburg / Cape Town route via Calvinia, compared to the N1 national road.
