About La Petite Dauphine

La Petite Dauphine is a picturesque estate set amongst vineyards, olive groves and fruit orchards. This historic working fruit and wine farm offers superior luxury accommodation and is a mere 1,7 km from Franschhoek Village, unofficially known as the gourmet capital of South Africa.


The stately driveway, lined with cypresses, white roses and agapanthus leads to the heart of the estate. Here guests will have a choice between the four Luxury Suites, two Luxury two bedroom suites - ideal for families with children, two Exclusive Villa Suites or a Junior Studio Suite. All suites are superbly decorated by our in house design studio and offer views over dams, sun kissed orchards, vineyards and the breathtaking Franschhoek Mountains. Artwork found in the manicured gardens add to the charm of the estate.

Guests will be pampered with soft gowns, fluffy towels and towelling slipper, other amenities quality are also provided to make the stay truly comfortable. Suites are climate controlled, with underfloor heating, heated towel rails and wood burning fireplaces for chilly winter nights.

The Exclusive Villa suites offers guests coverd patios and deck areas with plunge pools for own use. Each of the luxury suites has a floor space of 110m˛. Luxury suites offer 85m˛ of living space while Two Bedroom Luxury Suites have 110m˛ each. The cosy Junior Studio Suite has a covered deck area and guests will enjoy 35m˛ of floor space. Additional suite features include complimentary Wi-Fi, Nespresso coffee makers and Blu-ray DVD machines with a well-stocked video library.

Breakfast and Meals

Guests may enjoy a hand crafted breakfast at Café BonBon. The café has been skillfully converted from a 200 year old wine cellar. Nestled under majestic oak trees the café terrace offers a glimpse into refined country life with ponds, vineyards and orchards. The dramatic Franschhoek Mountains form a perfect backdrop to the café setting. Inside Café BonBon terracotta tiles, earthen walls and exposed wood rafters create a charming country feel.

The menu features items such as our much-requested slow roasted pork belly and a delicious freshly made ravioli. Seasonal changes are made to the offerings with ingredients that showcase the abundant regional produce.

The wine list with a local wines and a select few vineyards form further afield has been carefully considered. Service at Café BonBon is warm and friendly. The Cafe is open daily for lunch and on selected evenings for dinner.

Weddings and Functions

We offer an exceptional venue setting for intimate, enchanting and romantic weddings and celebrations. All the spaces are rich in heritage and offer the perfect setting for that truly special occasion. The venue options are abundant with the Paddock, the Gravel, Cafe Bon Bon and the Studio available to our guests.

The Paddock, with its beautiful manicured lawns can be used for the wedding ceremony. It is surrounded by nature and has unparalleled views of the Franschhoek Mountains. Alternatively, the wedding ceremony can be held under the 200 year old oak tree on the Gravel, which has a magnificent view of the Franschhoek Mountains as well. The Gravel can also be used as the reception area. This is suitable for groups up to 100 guests.

The Studio is a versatile venue suitable for groups up to 100 guests. This includes a dance floor. This old restored packing shed is a magnificent area overflowing with ambience. On one side, big doors open onto the Gravel overlooking vineyards and mountains in the distance. The studio has a fireplace that gives more atmosphere in the colder months. Dancing is only allowed inside the Studio and under no circumstances anywhere else on the estate.

Cafe Bon Bon is amongst the orange trees with exquisite views over the vineyards and duck pond. It also doubles as the bar area.

La Petite Dauphine offers companies a stylish conferencing venue in our Studio. Delegates may look forward to a choice of seating arrangements within 230 square feet of floor space. The Studio can accommodate up to 80 conference delegates and is equipped with standard conferencing equipment. We have a selection of conferencing packages on offer and packages are built around the needs of delegates and companies.
