Lali's Guest House and Tea Garden, set in a quiet residential area in Harrismith, is a beautiful Victorian house. Built in the early 1940's, with original oregan pine floors and real grandma's charm, it was later on used as a Missionary house for the pastor of the local Dutch Reformed Church. Situated at the foot of Platberg in the peaceful town of Harrismith, we offer a safe, peaceful and luxurious midway stop between Johannesburg and Durban. Your hosts, mother and daughter team Ria and Riane' van Dyk, will welcome you to their six bedroom, disabled friendly guest house. ACCOMMODATIONAll rooms are elegantly furnished and decorated to enhance the ambiance of the house. Each room has its own en-suite bathroom. Tea, coffee, rusks, hairdryers, electric blankets and heaters are provided in every room. TV-channels include M-Net, SABC 1 & 2, E-Tv, sport and movie channels. Three of the rooms open onto our delightful garden, where guests can enjoy something mouth watering and refreshing from our kitchen. THE ROOMSMusical Moods: A spacious room, with queen bed and full bathroom. A single bed can be added for a child under 12 years of age. Rural Bliss: The bay-window room with 2 single beds and a bathroom with a shower. Playfulness: A queen bed and an extra large bath / bath for two are special in this room. Harvesting: A spacious room with outside entrance has a queen bed with shower. An extra single bed can be added. Oasis: This family unit, with outside entrance, has two rooms: A room with a queen bed and bathroom with a shower and a small lounge with a daybed which can sleep two persons. The kitchenette has ample sitting space and are equipped with a fridge, microwave oven, mini braai, double plate mine stove, toaster, sandwich toaster, cutlery and utensils. Eden: This double room has a queen bed, shower and fully equipped kitchen, as in Oasis. BREAKFASTA full English breakfast is served from 7am in our dining room or outside under the trees; weather permitting. Home cooked dinners are available on prior request (before noon). The Platberg Game Reserve and Botanical Gardens, less than 5 km away, offers beautiful picnic spots, as well as amazing hiking and mountain bike trails. Sterkfontein Dam, a haven for water enthusiasts, is close by. The Drakensberg Mountain resorts, Golden Gate and Clarens are about 45 minutes drive away.
