In the 'hood, Kathu as a destination

There are two reasons why you might visit the rather remote and dusty town of Kathu. One is to marvel at the huge open case iron ore mine - Kathu has one of five of the largest iron ore mines in the world. And the other is the incredible forest of camel thorn trees, Acacia erioloba, one of only two in the world (the other lies between Mariental and Reboboth in Namibia) that endowes the town ... cont.

Directions to Kathuhari Guesthouse

From the N14 take the Kathu turn off.
The Shell Garage with big iron ore trucks will be on your right hand side after the turn off.
Continue for about 2km and turn right at the Sishen Golf Club sign.
At the security boom gate, you will be asked to fill in an arrival form.
Please follow the Kathuhari Guesthouse signs from the second boomgate.
