Tiger lodge is situated along the banks of the picturesque Jozini Dam of KwaZulu Natal. Situated in the heart of the Kingdom of the Zulu with its rich heritage and untamed natural beauty, Tiger Lodge is an exciting holiday destination which offers a perfect luxury getaway in the heart of nature.

The hotel is incredibly positioned overlooking the Jozini Dam and is easily accessible from both Durban and Gauteng.

Accommodation

The accommodation at Jozini Tiger Lodge & Spa Consists of 60 bedrooms accommodating 162 persons with 36 Classic standard bedrooms, 21 Family Loft bedrooms and 3 Deluxe Suites. The rooms offer unsurpassed comfort and luxury with breathtaking views overlooking the picture perfect Lake Jozini. All rooms at the lodge are fully air conditioned and are en-suite with both bath and shower facilities.

Other amenities include a tea and coffee station, safes, satellite television and a mini bar fridge which is stocked on request. Our well appointed Family Lofts have a upstairs bedroom with twin beds to accommodate the family within the same bedroom.

Facilities

Jozini Tiger Lodge is a touch of class in the African bush. The ruggedness of the Lebombo Range is completed by the lodge’s luxurious amenities. The views from the hotel are absolutely breathtaking. The main lodge hosts an array of amenities including a top class restaurant, private lounge bar, conference and wedding facilities, a Wellness centre, children´s playroom and gymnasium.

Dining

The restaurant is stand-alone and the extensive menu is only matched by the view. Guests are spoilt for choice. An outdoor boma dinner is amazing for groups.

Conferences and Weddings

Jozini Tiger Lodge also caters for large conferences and weddings which can accommodate up to 250 delegates or guests within the conference centre. Together with this we also offer a boardroom and two other breakaway rooms all aptly named after the local tribal families governing our local area.

Weddings at Jozini Tiger Lodge are something special with numerous options to make this a special occasion. These include open air ceremonies either in the bush, around the swimming pool or on the sunset boat cruiser. Our beautiful surroundings and with the lake as a back drop this makes an ideal venue to tie the knot.

Location

We are located in a prime position in the heart of Zululand. Surrounded by World Heritage Sites as well as some of the most acclaimed nature reserves in the world. Some of the exciting locations available include The iSimangaliso Wetland Park, The Maputaland marine reserve (located along the beautiful Maputaland South Coast) and many of the top game reserves in South Africa.

Activities

Fishing
The Tiger fishing tournament in October draws anglers from around the world. This is South Africa’s own Kariba. Lake Jozini in the Pongola Game Reserve is the most Southern lake where tigerfish are endemic. Although widespread and still common in certain areas like the Pongola river, tigerfish are declining in most rivers due to pollution, water extraction and obstructions like weirs and dams that prevent their passage up or downstream to suitable spawning sites along flooded river banks and lake shores.

The Tiger Fish is one of the most exciting fresh water gamefish and catching tiger fish will have your adrenalin flowing. Recognised by the bluish sheen on its back, a series of parallel longitudinal black stripes, intensive yellow to blood red fins with trailing black edges and a series of 8 large, protruding, sharply pointed teeth. From the novice fisherman to the expert anglers fishing with a fly, Lake Jozini offers you the ideal location for tigerfishing of a lifetime.

Game Viewing
Jozini Tiger Lodge is a 1 hour drive to Sodwana Bay, Umfolozi, Mhuze and Ndumo Game Reserves. Pongolapoort Reserve on the eastern shore is home to 4 of the Big 5, 350 species of bird life, crocodiles and hippos.

Other Activities

Tiger lodge is surrounded by a wealth of attractions which include some of KwaZulu Natal’s most pristine game reserves and parks, some of the world’s best coral reefs are also nearby in the Maputaland marine reserve.
