In 2007 the Howick Falls Hotel underwent a major renovation to turn it into a modern boutique hotel offering 18 luxury bedrooms, all en-suite with air-conditioning, DSTV and state of the art high security keyless card entry system.

The Howick Hotel is situated in the centre of Howick, in the middle of the Midlands Meander, a stone’s throw from the Howick Falls where the Umgeni River plunges 300ft into the Umgeni Valley.

The Howick Falls Hotel has three different accommodation options aimed at meeting your individual needs. Standard rooms, available as a double or twin, can accommodate two people and offer en-suite facilities with a shower, DSTV, Wireless Internet, air-conditioning and high-security keyless card access.

Executive rooms are larger than the standard room, also available in Double or Twin options, and offer a full bathroom with bath and separate shower.

Suites or family rooms consist of two rooms sharing a large bathroom complete with bath and separate shower facilities. These rooms are ideal for the traveling family. They can also be set up as a bedroom and a separate lounge - ideal for the traveling business person to hold private meetings.

Location

The Howick Falls Hotel is situated in an area rich in history and abundant in natural and human resources.

The Howick Hotel provides the ideal venue from which to explore the historical places of interest. The Howick Museum is situated directly across the road from the hotel and the Laager Wall, which was built after the 1879 defeat at Isandlwana, is situated 50 metres from the hotel. Other historical places of interest in the area include the site of Nelson Mandela’s arrest and Spieonkop, the site where 1500 British troops lost their lives during the Boer War.

The Midlands Meander is a collection of 160 places of interest consisting of arts, crafts, studios, galleries, cheese and wine making venues, eating venues and entertainment sites. It is no longer just a place for a day trip, it is a holiday destination.
