Enjoy true Karoo hospitality in the centre of South Africa. The Horse and Mill is a perfect stop-over between Cape Town, Port Elizabeth, Johannesburg and Durban. It is situated in the centre of Colesberg, in a quiet one-way street parallel to the main road.

Accommodation

The Horse and Mill Guest House has eight private en-suite units. The two family units have two bedrooms, one with a queen bed and one with two single beds, bathroom with shower. The three double rooms have double beds and bathrooms with showers while the two twin rooms are equipped with two single beds and bathrooms with showers. There is one family room with a double bed and single bed and bathroom with shower.

All of these are equipped with:
• DStv Guesthouse bouquet, that is all the sports channels, M Net, Movie Magic 1 and 2 as well as all the free channels
• Private Entrance
• Air con, ceiling fans, electric blankets and bar fridges
• Coffee, tea and rusks
• Pets welcome by prior arrangement
• Secure off-street parking

We also have two budget family units which are in the house opposite the Horse and Mill pub. They consist of two bedrooms and a bathroom. In the lounge that is shared is a TV with the DStv bouquet. Coffee, tea, rusks and a fridge are provided in the kitchen.

Breakfast and Dining

Next to the guest house is the Horse and Mill Pub and Restaurant which is an old English-style pub located in the beautiful, restored Coach House with a real horse mill inside. The building was built in 1840 and the horse mill was erected on the farm “Sewenfontein” in 1891. It was brought here to Colesberg in 1977. Both the building and the mill has National Monument status.

Here you can quench your thirst with a draft of any other liquor or cold drink. The restaurant has a variety of dishes on the menu. Karoo Lamb is our specialty so it is worthwhile trying one of our lamb dishes.

English breakfast is served on request.
