Hillhouse Accommodation has sweeping views of Midmar dam and the idyllic Midlands countryside. Situated on a farm, Hillhouse is private, has plenty of space, all the necessary comforts, and lots of style.

Accommodation

Hillhouse
Sleeping up to 12 people, this is a perfect venue for large groups of family and friends. The converted farm shed is the most unusual, and welcoming venue and its open plan design lends itself to a myriad of adventures!

Four bedrooms on an upper level overlook the living area, and there are four bathrooms. The main bedroom has a queen sized bed and ensuite bathroom. Three of the bedrooms have a pair of single beds and an open mezzanine has four more beds if needed. Fine cotton bed linen and bath towels are provided.

Lakehouse
Lakehouse sleeps four people, and has the most magnificent open view. The lounge/diningroom opens up onto the veranda which wraps around the house. There are two bedrooms and one bathroom.

Facilities

Both houses have a well equipped kitchen, and an open fireplace with ample wood provided. There are also extra heaters for cold winter nights. We also provide fine cotton bed linen and bath towels. You may request servicing of your house. There are braai (barbeque) facilities available.

We are wheelchair friendly, and allow well mannered pets to accompany you. There are beautiful walks on the rolling hills and forests of our farm, view buck, bird-life and enjoy the tranquil surroundings. The 70 hectare farm has ideal cycling terrain and at Midmar Dam, only a few kilometers away, one can fish, sail and water ski.

In the heart of the Midlands, there are plenty of places to visit and thing to do. One can retreat, relax and unwind or tour the midlands and enjoy all the activities available in the area.

Weddings and Conferences

Hillhouse is ideal for weddings. The large, open, converted shed comfortably holds up to 100 guests indoors. There is also an option for the bride, groom and 14 wedding guests to be accommodated overnight, to extend the celebration.

Exchange vows under the trees, set up picnics on the lawn outside, party all night long and enjoy the beautiful surroundings. You may choose your own caterer. Hillhouse is also available for conferences, workshops, or any big celebration.

Location

Hillhouse is on the Petrusstroom Road, 6 kms from the N3, in the heart of the KwaZulu Natal Midlands. Situated within the Dargle Valley Conservancy, our farm is 3 kms from Midmar Dam. Midmar Mile swimmers and other sporting visitors will find this an ideally convenient location.
We are also well situated to access many of the Midlands schools.
