The 4 Star Graded Hermansdal Lodge & Conference Centre is situated on the banks of the well known, and sometimes very mighty, Olifants River. The centre lies between Middelburg and Witbank on the R555 road and, as it’s on farmland, a beautiful, tranquil, peaceful and safe surrounding was created. The Witbank / Middelburg area is an industrial colossus and the mining hub of South Africa. Both towns have its own steel manufacturing contingent in the form of Highveld Steel and Columbus Steel. Various service sectors are well established in both towns. AccommodationHermansdal Lodge offers forty north facing chalets, with river view, that can accommodate guests for an unforgettable visit. No self catering available, but with an excellent farm style breakfast, there is no need. Conferences5 conference venues are available, and we have capacity for from 14 to 300 people. These venues are equipped with modern facilities to suite every desire and we are prepared to provide for every need. Conference delegates can choose from any of various menus with the standard tea / coffee and snacks on arrival. Each venue has its own facilities for serving food and snacks etc. WeddingsWe have an excellent facility for hosting weddings - both big and exclusive or small and private. The main hall can be converted in a dream venue with fairy lights, flowers, organza draping and other accessories, to make your special day unforgettable. The surrounding is such that very fine wedding photographs can be taken on site. Our gardens are superbly laid out, very spacious and with waterfalls, fish pond and wooden bridges makes the ideal backdrop for beautiful wedding photographs. An open air gazebo is available for outdoor ceremonies, beautifully decorated chapel for indoor functions and a special bridal suite is available for newly wed couples. CateringHermansdal has its own kitchen with fully trained chefs and staff to cater for any of the mentioned function. Menus are adapted to the needs of our clients and each conference and wedding is negotiated to requirements. We only make use of the best quality and freshest ingredients to assure excellent food of highest standard. Food is served in two dining rooms e.g. Café Grace and Café Merci. Special functionsWe often cater for functions, for example a special braai for visitors of our clients. The Bass lapa with braai facilities is situated on the river edge and lends itself beautifully for such private parties, with a portable bar for on site service. Other special functions include a golden wedding anniversary, 50th birthday party, school reunion etc., which can all be catered for. ACCREDITATIONS
