Wielligh and Ellie Meyer came across this lovely holiday home at Kosmos, Hartebeespoort Dam in 2006 and it was love at first sight!
The magnificent views and tranquil leafy feel with all the trees on the property and in the area as a whole, stole our hearts and we just couldn’t resist this haven situated against the towering Magaliesberg Mountain.
We named it 'Hemel op Aarde (Heaven on Earth) as you really get that feeling of utter relaxation and calm away from the everyday hustle and bustle from town and work, the moment you arrive. There are numerous big trees giving you that “forest feel’’ with lots of shadow and sunny spots attracting an abundance of bird life to the area, and to top it all … the magnificent view over the dam!
Hemel op Aarde is one of very few properties in the Kosmos area with easy access and plenty of parking space beneath the shady trees in front of a double lock up garage.
Enter the front door from here still on the same level and experience a spacious lounge and dining area open plan design with the kitchen at the back. An open patio runs out from the lounge where you can sit and enjoy the serenity of the views and the wonderful atmosphere.
Moving down stairs there are three bedrooms each with a queen size bed thus sleeping six people comfortably. Each room has a great view over the dam. Two modern bathrooms service the rooms although they are not en suite. There is a cozy fire place for the colder winter nights.
Should one feel the need for more excitement there are numerous things to do in the area. You are an hour or less drive from all three major soccer stadia in Rustenburg, Pretoria and Johannesburg. One and a half hour from Sun City. In a radius of ten kilometers you have some exquisite restaurants, three champion golf courses, hot air balloon trips, boating, adventure trips, game parks, indigenous art and crafts shopping and much more.
