Established in 1892 and commandeered as headquarters by the British during the Anglo-Boer war, this historic country hotel is the ideal half-way stop between Durban and Johannesburg.

Situated at the top of Van Reenen's Pass, a warm welcome is offered to all guests who are inspired with the old grandeur and feel relaxed and at home. The a la carte restaurant is renowned for its excellent cuisine.

The 'Half-Way Noggin' well stocked pub with its cosy fireplace, is a popular meeting place for all and many sportsmen have donated personal items of sentimental value which adorn the walls. The a-la-carte restaurant and pub are renowned for wholesome tasty meals – oxtail a speciality!

The Green Lantern Inn M’Sonti 4x4 experience - this is an exciting outing for the whole family, driving through magnificent scenery, and for Dad in his big toy, much fun is enjoyed competing with other vehicles. The day culminates with a scrumptious braai in the caves. What fun! Minimum of four vehicles, maximum eight vehicles.

MOUNTAIN BIKING
We invite families to come to Van Reenen and enjoy our fresh mountain air and enjoy a ride along any of our mountain bike routes ... some more daring than others. Mountain bike weekends are available throughout the year. Enquire for special weekend family rates.

GOLFING WEEKENDS
Harrismith boasts the second oldest golf course in the country, and others are in close proximity. Make up a party and book your weekend with us

THE HISTORIC LITTLE CHURCH
Smallest in the Southern hemisphere, is opposite the hotel, and we cater for wedding receptions large and small.
