Popularly known as one of the “best kept secrets” on this coastline, Umzumbe offers unparalleled holiday value and caters for the whole family. With excellent sea views from the main bedroom, lounge and protected verandah and a large well-kept garden surrounding lawns to play and relax on, your holiday starts immediately on arrival at Greenend Cottage. Comfortable sleeping eight people, all furnishings in the cottage have been tastefully chosen with comfort and easy entertaining in mind and with just a 2 minute walk to the beach, paradise truly is on your doorstep! In a recent assessment (March 2009) Greenend Holiday Cottage was given an AA Highly Recommended award with the following feedback: "A well situated modern home – good appearance and condition with great sea views; high standard with lovely quality of décor and colours which are well co-ordinated and blended together. Great hospitality noted with the helper who is delightful and friendly". The Cottage is well secured with an electric fence, automated gate and an alarm system linked to Chubb Security. There is also a double-automated garage, with safe parking for additional vehicles in the paved drive way. Accommodation• 1 bedroom with a queen-size bed, built-in cupboards, a ceiling-fan, and an en-suite bathroom (with bath and shower) • 1 bedroom with two single beds (can be pushed together), built-in cupboards, a ceiling-fan, and an en-suite bathroom (bath only) • 1 bedroom with either 2 single beds and 1 bunk bed or 4 single beds; built-in cupboards, a ceiling-fan • A third, separate bathroom (shower only) • Bath and hand towels • Crisp percale linen and pillows • Excellent indoor and outdoor dining facilities, seating up to 16 people which makes it ideal for large family gatherings • An outside shower for removing salt and sand after your time on the beach • Double lockup garage and secure paved area for extra parking • Trellis door on the front patio door Facilities• Fully equipped kitchen with a microwave, water-filter, stove, kettle, toaster, fridge / freezer, bodum coffee maker and dishwashing towels • Laundry with washing-machine, tumble-drier and ironing facilities • Windy-drier • A large enclosed verandah with comfortable couches and outdoor dining facilities • Weber braai • Satellite-TV (DSTV)* Please remember to bring your own smart-card (there is a decoder) • DVD/Video and CD-player • Toy box What to bring• Beach towels (at least 2x per person recommended) and slops for the 2-minute walk to the beach. Groceries including: • Your special brand of filter coffee • Toilet paper (please use 1-ply because of the septic-tank) • Toiletries including soap • Branded automatic-washing-machine-soap and fabric-softener • Dishwashing liquid * Please note that soap, toilet paper and dishwashing liquid are provided on arrival, but you will need to replace as needed. Additional information:Busi, our excellent Housekeeper has worked for us for 10 years and lives on the property - offering additional security and convenience, and together with Johannes, the Gardener, are there to make your stay a relaxing and comfortable one. • Busi is employed to service the cottage at a supplemented rate per day (please enquire) and her daily tasks include general cleaning, washing up and changing of linen. All bookings are required to make use of daily servicing so as to maintain the cleanliness and high standard of the cottage. • She may be requested to do daily clothing washing but ironing is not included in her rate. Separate ironing facilities are provided in the cottage. • Hand towels are changed daily and bath towels are changed every third day. • Please note that baby sitting is not included in Busi’s daily rate and needs to be negotiated separately with her at the convenience of all concerned. • Busi’s hours of employment are from 08h00 to 16h30 daily with breakfast, tea and lunch breaks in between. • Johannes takes care of the lawns and garden, cleans the Weber and assists with general maintenance.
