The Clarens Golf and Trout Estate is situated 500 metres past the entrance to the village of Clarens on the road to Golden Gate National Park. Clarens, a popular weekend destination, has, amid the flurry of exciting new development, retained its world renowned heritage and natural charm. The Club & Trout Villa is situated on the Estate and has wonderful views of both the village as well as the distant Maluti mountain range. This luxury villa is superbly appointed and is fully equipped to meet all your holiday requirements. AccommodationThe three level home has 2 en suite bedrooms. The main bedroom, on the upper level, has a queen size bed and has DSTV. The en-suite bathroom has both a bath and a shower. The second bedroom is on the entrance level and has twin beds. This bathroom has both bath and shower facilities. Living AreasThe open plan living area is situated on the ground floor and has sliders to a large patio fitted with a gas braai. The lounge has a gas fireplace for those chilly winter nights, in addition to the underfloor heating which is fitted throughout the entire house. There is also a six seater dining area for relaxed holiday meals. The patio also has a table and chairs for the summer months when meals can be enjoyed outside. The kitchen is fully fitted (under counter oven/ hob, microwave oven, washing machine and tumble drier) and has granite counters. ServiceThe villa is serviced daily (excluding Sundays). All linen (including towels) is supplied. GolfingThe Clarens Golf Course was originally a 9 hole course but was recently upgraded and extended to an 18 hole championship course by Pinnacle Point Holdings, the developers of the popular Pinnacle Point in Mossel Bay. The par 72 golf course, designed and constructed by Golf Data, is bound to excite every level of golfer. All 18 holes meander along and across the tranquil river and its splendid series of trout dams and cascading waterfalls. The new Club House is well appointed and offers wonderful mountain views. Attractions & ActivitiesFor the non-golfers there are plenty of other activities available. Hiking trails, mountain bike and 4 x 4 trails are all available in the near vicinity. White water rafting is a popular activity in the warmer months and for those who love to ride there are some truly magnificent horse trails. Apart from the breathtaking vistas and natural beauty of the nearby Golden Gate National Park, the Clarens region also makes claim to some of the finest trout fishing waters in South Africa. For the strollers, there are a plethora of art galleries, restaurants and coffee shops in Clarens - you can just sit at a pavement café and watch the world go by. There are also some very interesting speciality shops for the ‘shopperholics’ – in fact the village of Clarens has something to suit every taste. FestivalsThere are a number of festivals held in the area annually - The Clarens Visual Arts Festival, The Asparagus Festival in Fouriesburg, The Cherry Festival in Ficksburg (November) - all of which are worth a visit.
