The Garingboom Guest Farm is an eco-friendly Karoo sheep farm situated in the Southern Free State. The farm is 150km south of Bloemfontein on the N1 and at exit no 45 only 11 km on the R715 towards Bethulie.

Accommodation

Accommodation at Garingboom Guest Farm is offered in comfy, fully equipped two-bedroom cottages under shady trees.

Facilities

We have a swimming pool for those hot summer days; you are welcome to utilise this and enjoy our beautiful garden. The setting of the farm is relaxing with lovely views available; perhaps you would enjoy sitting on the patio and enjoying the scenery.

Breakfast and Dining

Breakfast is served and special Karoo lamb dinners are also available on request.

Birding

Over 140 species of birds are listed on the farm. This includes specials like the Burchells’ Courser, Layards’ Titbabler, Blue Korhaan, Rock Pipit and many other Karoo specials. A new species, the Kimberley Pipit, are a resident on the farm and in the winter times, the Longtailed Pipit is a special visitor.

Activities and Attractions

Two walking trails on the farm give you the opportunity to do some birding and walking on your own. Riëtte is an experienced birder and special birding trips, horse rides and Dragonfly spotting can be arranged with her. Special information on the beautiful indigenous plants and bossies is also available.
