We had a stunning weekend in Stanford. We were a group of 8 adults and we fitted into the house most comfortably. Our plan was to eat in on Friday to bond and eat in a restaurant on Saturday night, the house was so comfortable we popped off to Spar bought some meat and ate in again. (We did support local restaurants at lunch time). Our only small complaint was we all showered at the same time so the last one had a cool shower as he wouldnt wait.

We booked this house for a large group of friends over the weekend of my fiance's fortieth birthday. It was perfect for a big group or a couple of families sharing. The house is very big and accommodated everyone comfortably with loads of little private spaces so one never felt cramped. It is a great social space as well with a fabulous sun room that has a indoor braai, pool table and bar area and double french doors leading onto a large garden on both sides. There is so much to do in the area as well and I would highly recommend this for a relaxing and different getaway. Stanford is a gorgeous little town that we have fallen in love with and would go back year after year without hesitation.

What a great place to stay! None of us wanted to leave!

A beautifully appointed house, with tasteful furnishings and olde worlde charm. We loved the village green & the quaint shops. It's the perfect getaway from Cape Town. My son played cricket for hours on the green - it took me back to a different time, when children could play safely nearby. I think the house is beautiful! We would definitely return.

The accomodation and tranquility of the place is fantastic. It was a holiday to remember, many, many happy memories. If given the opportunity to stay at "Fruit Tree Cottage" again, my family & I will definitely seize the opportunity.
