Review by: Donn Edwards, Johannesburg (stayed: October 2009)
Forest View is spacious and comfortable, and the photos give an accurate impression of the place. Maybe even a little understated. My wife and I took our friends from the UK and their baby to stay for the weekend in Clarens. It rained shortly after we arrived, but that made no difference to our holiday.
There are two spacious lounges, a fireplace, braai area, big covered stoep, and a well-appointed kitchen. This is not a holiday cottage with the owner's old furniture and mismatched crockery. Far from it! Everything promised was provided, including the DSTv, although we hardly watched it because we were having a great time.
The beds were comfortable, and nothing felt cramped. We cooked several meals in the kitchen, and it felt better than home. We felt thoroughly spoilt staying in Forest View, and have already mentioned it it several friends. The garden is large and offers plenty of privacy: no inquisitive neighbours or B&B owners hovering around. Just peace and quiet, and a view of the hills around Clarens. Perfect.
Clarens it a lovely town to visit, and we plan to return whenever possible. Forest View made our stay even more special. |
