About Evergreen River Guest Farm

Evergreen River Guest Farm is a privately owned farm on the banks of the Groot Marico River, 9 km outside the small village of Groot Marico, along a 7km dirt road stretch. We are situated in the UNESCO approved Marico Biosphere Reserve just 2,5 hrs drive from Gauteng on the N4 Platinum Highway in the NW Province. We are 90 kms away from Rustenburg, 45 kms from Zeerust and 2 hrs from Gaborone.

Accommodation

Accommodation comprises of an offroad caravan/tent camp site and 3 self-catering cottages suited to accommodate up to 16 guests. Bring your tenting/caravan equipment/cooking utensils and bedding.

There are two undercover camp buildings with kitchen area, gas geyser, solar lights, 2 plate gas burner, toilet, shower, braai area. There is no electricty but there's an electrical point 200m away to charge appliances and where you can use our fridge/freezer.

Karee River Camp offers sites for your caravan or tents within 40m of the Groot Marico River (bass, barbel, yellow fish) that flows through the farm. The camp is large and spacious sleeping a maximum of 20 guests, and set in a beautiful nature spot that offers peace and tranquillity. It is mountain facing with stunning sunrise and sunset views.

On site Facilities

On-site facilities include a private natural rock splash pool at each unit, indoor fireplace at each unit, braai areas, secure parking and pets by arrangement. Come and fish in our river, walk, cycle, star gaze, read, have a picnic at our river or the Groot Marico Eye (30kms away and offers scuba diving and snorkelling/swimming), pick citrus when in season or just enjoy our unspoilt nature and peace and tranquillity.

Pet Friendly

Well socialised and trained dogs are welcome at a duration stay cost of R200,00 per dog in the cottages, and R100 per dog at the Karee River Camp Site, and this amount gets paid to us directly. Visitors need to bring beds, bedding and bowls for pets. Pets are not allowed on any of the cottage furniture. If this happens, an additional laundry fee of R200,00 will be requested. Pets are not allowed to be unattended in the cottage or camp site. When making a reservation, please confirm the number of pets, size and breed. Consideration must be given to our 2 resident dogs. No cats allowed unfortunately.

Hot water is generated by a gas geyser. There is an electrical point 200m from the camp site to charge appliances and there is also a fridge/freezer available at this point. There are 2 “camp base buildings” that are under cover and these buildings offer a kitchen area with a double zinc, a table and chairs, shelves to unpack all your goodies, a gas 2 plate burner, gas for hot water, solar lights. There is an undercover toilet, shower and braai area. We allow a maximum of 30 guests. Guests must bring their own bedding and camping /cooking equipment.

A wonderful stay at Evergreen. The accommodation was spacious and comfortable and the farm is ideally situated in a quiet area in GM. Rob and Lynnie are the best hosts you could ever have- warm and inviting and just nice people. I hadn't been to the Groot Marico in 4 years and I was reminded of how beautiful and relaxing a place it is. Will definitely be returning.
