Duvet & Crumpets is very conveniently situated in the lovely city of Pietermaritzburg - being only two km from the start of Comrades, the Amashova Cycle Race, Royal Show Grounds and Joliffe Swimming Pool.

Duvet & Crumpets offers various accommodation options and cater for families, sporting teams, business executives, contract employees and tourists.

There are garden units comprising a bedroom with double bed, kitchen and bathroom which are suitable for singles or couples. The family suites comprise bedroom with double and single bed, kitchen and bathroom. We also have lovely garden cottages which are 5/6 sleepers and these comprise two bedrooms, lounge, dining room, kitchen and full bathroom. These cottages are ideal for families that are relocating or for longer term stays.

The larger guest houses are ideal for any sporting teams and comprise en-suite bedrooms, TV lounge, dining room, fully equipped kitchen. Guests have a choice of self-catering or B&B.

Facilities

Dinners are served on request. Our units are serviced on a daily basis. We are able to assist with laundry for guests. Secure off-street parking via remote control gates is provided.

Activities and Attractions

Duvet & Crumpets offers the ideal base for those wanting to visit the Midlands Meander or Battlefields area. Day trips to Howick Falls and a visit to Karkloof Canopy Tours are well worth putting on your itinerary. Tala Game Reserve is less than 25km from us - game drives are available most days.

For those guests wishing to visit the majestic Drakensberg - this is a pleasant drive of less than two hours. The Drakensberg Boys Choir performs most Wednesdays and guests are delighted each week by such professional shows performed by the boys.

Midmar Dam and Albert Falls Dam are only half an hour’s drive. Both dams are popular with boating and fishing enthusiasts. The Midmar Mile which is held in February each year attracts thousands of swimmers who take part in the various categories.

For those guests who enjoy walking, the trail through the forest to Worlds View is most enjoyable as is the one through the Botanical Gardens. One can take a picnic basket to the Gardens and spend a quiet relaxing day under the huge old trees or have something to drink or eat at the lovely restaurant at the entrance to the Gardens. A small fee is charged for any visit to the Botanical Gardens.

There are a number of golf courses for keen golfers in and around Pietermaritzburg eg: Victoria Country Club, Maritzburg Golf Club, Sakabula and Boschoek.

Location

The Liberty Midlands Mall is only three kms from us and offers shoppers a selection of shops and restaurants. We also have three restaurants within walking distance from us that offer delicious breakfasts, lunches and dinners.
