The Ol Dining Room:
Once upon a time the dining room, but now tastefully reinvented as a beautiful bedroom. From the bay window the view rolls grandly over the garden to the mountain. Ideal for a unique honeymoon experience, or an absolute treat for somebody special.
The Heirloom Room:
Once the heart of the family home, the kitchen, but now entrusted with heirlooms of 4 generations. The outside door opens on a private stoep, ideal for peaceful contemplation.
A century ago the children’s room, but now, decorated in yellow and blue Sanderson’s linen, a very private retreat for fine people of any age.
Built in 1908 as the main bedroom, this spacious, private, sunny room has a special ambiance, with a beautifully preserved stained glass window – and a bathroom behind the massive safe door.
The Hide Away Room:
This is a semi self-catering option for two people. Very private with beautiful views towards Fouriesburg.
The chapel used to be a huge milk shed, originally built in grand style with sand stone, superior building material and its own corner stone dated 1908. It is refitted with a beautiful window, pulpit and seating for 100 persons. It provides a fitting backdrop for joyous ceremonies of all kinds.
The formal hall, seating 100 persons, and the lapa, seating 30 persons, was erected to cater for weddings, family gatherings, seminars, etc.
activities and attractions
Fishermen can enjoy their favourite pass-time and fish for rainbow trout, yellow-fish & carp in the easily accessible 3 hectare dam fed by a perennial stream, surrounded by large shady trees under huge sand stone cliffs.
Walking trails criss-cross the farm, varying from easy strolls to challenging climbs, taking in on the way, amongst others, the overhanging cliffs, waterfall, poplar forest, beautiful San rock art, the Surrender Hill Boer War memorial and, for the sentimentally inclined, the two well kept graveyards.
Game watching can also be enjoyed: eland, njala, zebra, waterbuck, rhebuck, red hartebeest and other indigenous game.
Less energetic visitors are free to go on game viewing drives, or just to relax in the gardens or the veld.
For everybody with wanderlust the surrounding Brandwater Basin sports outings to quaint Clarens & Fouriesburg, the Golden Gate Nature Reserve, various historical sites, even ski slopes in Lesotho.
