Location & Attractions

Manaba is Margate’s own scenic swimming beach on the coast of KwaZulu-Natal. This province is famous for its beautiful beaches and gorgeous weather almost all year round. Manaba is a holiday resort for travellers that want the magic of the South African beachfront, with modern amenities nearby. It is close to Margate, Ramsgate, St Michaels On Sea and Shelly Beach. In addition, it is just a short drive from Oribi Gorge and Port Shepstone, while Durban (home to the King Shaka International Airport) is only a little further afield.

Manaba is a delight for watersports enthusiasts. Surfing, kitesurfing, windsurfing, whale watching, canoeing, paddling and swimming are all on offer for pros and beginners alike. The warm sand invites onlookers to laze on the beach and enjoy all of the action. The Umzimkulu River is close, and offers white water rafting expeditions and languorous barge cruises.

Other nearby attractions include Oribi Gorge and Echo Valley, where some of the finest Arabica coffee is grown and roasted.
